I have been a sheep enjoyer my whole life since the first summers at my grandma’s farm (lots of sheep)

I haven’t had the proper chance to visit her in the last five years (if not more) and I miss the sheep and lambs so much

Thank you so much for your service, I will enjoy these sheep posts so much, such amazing animals!

Leenulumyx ("moon sheep") are a medium sized mammal which the magi keep for their wool, milk, horns, and meat. The unique conjoined shape of their horns distinguishes these sheep from other species in the haenulin kingdoms. Their unique wool - often used for creating clothing and fabric textiles - changes color with the phases of the moon. During the full moon, their coats are a pure white while during a new moon, are an inky black. Magi track the change in the sheep's wool to predict when the next star shower will occur as their wool will develop a glittering sheen in advance.

Little video of processing the Swedish Helsinge lamb fleece. Helsinge is a heritage breed known for it’s double coat - the inner coat (thel) is super soft and warm, whilst the outer coat (tog) is coarser and shiny. The different properties of the tog & thel make each more suited for certain applications (ie use thel for something warm and toasty for next to skin, & use tog for outwear that needs to endure weather or abraison). To separate the coats you use double tine combs and comb away until all the strong fibers are aligned so the tog can be dized out leaving the thel caught between the tines.
