Frank Langdon is not addicted to Benzos. He is addicted to painkillers and was using the benzos, as they are often used in hospitals, to treat his withdrawal from the painkillers he was prescribed by a doctor who should be fired. If we look at how drug addicts and drug-seeking behaviour are treated on the show, it is clear that a comment is being made about opioids. White Men are overrepresented in statistics about opioid addiction and that is very likely because, as we see with the treatment of the guy who asks for morphine vs the treatment of Joyce, bias against women and people of colour means it is extremely easy for white men to get pain meds and they are often overprescribed to the point of addiction while women and people of colour struggle to have their pain acknowledged.
To disregard these storyline about pain meds shows clear commentary on how opioids are prescribed and claim Langdon as a benzo addict, as someone seeking a high, as someone looking to medicate himself out of his responsibilities or problems does a massive disservice not only to his character and the writers of this show but to victims of loose prescribing practices and to victims of medical bias.
Mel taking a very drunk Santos home after karaoke to her empty sad little huckleberry-less apartment. Before Mel leaves to head home, in a moment of booze fueled and very unSantos like vulnerability, Trinity asks Mel to stay. She tells her that she really doesn't want to be alone right now, but doesn't explain further. And Mel, who also has nothing but a quiet empty apartment waiting for her at home, does.

trinity santos is a study in fandom misogyny because they gave her all the characteristics fandoms usually salivate for in men, being gruff, quippy and misunderstood with a tragic backstory but a heart of gold beneath it all. they put all this into her AND let her be a lesbian. she's everything you could ever want in a character but she's not a man so half the fandom either hates her or constantly mischaracterizes her as petty, callous and aggressive while doing mental gymnastics to baby the male characters around her
