ATLA Spider Lily AU - comic remake.

Remake/redesign/rewrite of a mini-comic I did in 2024 between Ozai and Azula. This comic is set within my “spider-lily” au which is highly centred on the fire nation royal family, particularly Ozai and his respective relationships with his brother, father and children. There’s a lot to explain but it’s a good opportunity for me to write a gothic horror tragedy about being trans, queerness as a whole, intergenerational trauma, mental illness and all sorts of other dark themes.

Anyway, as a result of that comic, here’s some musings on the toxic, codependent, deeply layered and tragic relationship between Ozai and Azula bc I am utterly obsessed with their dynamic 😭

Well, I overall liked and enjoyed season 2 of NATLA a lot. My biggest gripe, and this will be to the surprise of absolutely no one who knows me, is that there wasn’t enough Ozai.

I need more of that deliciously complex and self contradictory evil man.

responding to that other anon, the concept of Ozai getting pregnant deliberately or accidentally and then immediately using it for attention is something I can’t even be mad about bc he’d absolutely do that 💀

I feel like that’s lowkey the best part of this lmao the fact you can pretty easily see him doing all of it

The concept of Ozai somehow getting pregnant during being in jail and that’s why he escapes which leads to this nice awkward reunion and reveal moment when Zuko and Azula eventually track him down mm yes

THE CONCEPT!! Seriously though, he’d do it too, whether by accident or deliberately, and would refuse to clearly and properly explain himself the entire time.
