Oh! I almost forgot that I had written that down as an AU, and you know what, it’s still an AU that I would love to see played out in some way. I think it’s a far better path for Saeran than what happened. It stems from the fact that moment during Ray Route where he’s trying to reason with Saeran, how he was once this young boy who loved flowers and had an interest in photography.
V had full intentions of making sure that Saeran had a safe, happy life away from the danger that he and his brother were in. He moved them to a remote house and he was surely going to ensure that Saeran was protected until Rika made the decision to take Saeran away and manipulate her to her liking. The process started well before she ripped him away. V was often gone with work but he did trust Rika to care for Saeran.
But, she made a lot of bad choices in the way that she “helped” him. Pushing him when he cried, making sure that he felt like she was the only person in the world that he could ever count on, scaring him until he was able to see no other safety but Rika, thusly, easier to get him to leave the house and come with her to Magenta.
Had V been able to care for Saeran the way that he wanted, he surely would have shown Saeran his interests in art, and allowed him to learn anything that he wanted to get his hands on. Saeran was shown to enjoy drawing as well, given his notebooks works that he did that you can find in the Special Believer package. So, honestly, it’s not a stretch.
I think it would a be fitting path for Saeran, too.
He wants to be able to share his love of nature with others, and this is a good way for him to do it. I’m sure they would purposefully change his name and all the works to ensure his safety, but this is a way that he can control his life and have genuine joy. Saeran being able to do something like that isn’t what he thought he would ever be able to do, but freedom can be found in the fact that he can share what freedom looks like to him.
I imagine he’d be amazing at it, even with V’s help, he’s likely a natural at it. He even takes photos of the flowers at Magenta and likes to share them with MC, so even that considered lets me know that there was always a hint that he would have loved to do that. It just got so tied up with V that he couldn’t go back to that on the same level when he got older.
But, in this AU, he would be able to do just that.
He may not be able to see his brother, but you know what, he does feel like he is being watched over by him, even if they aren’t together, they’re underneath the same sky. It might be dangerous but in this circumstance, Seven might even just dare to try to send him something to let him know how proud he is of him, just you know, not labeled but he would be able to tell his brother’s handwriting for sure.
I’m just trying not to cry at Saeran glancing over his shoulder because he felt eyes on his back and all he saw was the glimmer of red hair, which caused him to cock his head, and wonder... just wonder, was his brother here to support him too?
But, V would probably grab his attention after that and the thought would leave Saeran’s mind as he looks back at the crowd in front of himself. Yeah, this is all good.
