I think what I like a lot about the Chalice of Gods so far is how sweet Percy is. He’s been fighting all his life and he’s tired. He still wants to help people, after everything he’s been through he’s still got that old empathy that made 10 year old me’s toes curl.

It’s no longer the power that can bend the earth and raise storms to the skies that he calls upon. It’s that inherent gentleness that’s all Sally and none of Poseidon that he’s really coming into here in this book.
