If Olruggio, for some reason, knew about Qifrey's condition without Qifrey being aware of it, it's kind of good? Qifrey will keep being anxious while Olruggio can start researching about it behind his back. The challenge would be keeping it from Qifrey. With that long-ass relationship, they knew each other's tells immediately. With lots of practice, I think Qifrey would know pretty much immediately that Olruggio knows with just a shift of demeanor or expression, so Olruggio really needs to be sneaky for this plan to work.

What if on top of straight lines as specialty, Coco eventually masters the negation of magic? With her research focused on negating the magic on her mother, she might come across various ways on how to do it.

Might also be in line with her character: an Unknowing who eventually learned magic, just to undo magic.

Their drive was always the core of their magic. Qifrey with water because he hates getting wet, Olruggio with fire because maybe from necessity as someone from a cold region (?) and due to another reason which we don't know the specifics yet, Beldaruit with smoke sculptures for travel because he's immobilized most of the time. Tetia and Richeh, too.

I hate to think of it, but I think she will achieve it with Iguin's guidance under their numerous "challenges" with his "lessons" building up overtime, but with Coco tethered by people in the atelier enough just not to cross the line.

She will be in that gray zone, just like that idea of healing table during the festival. Just thinking of the headache Easthies will have is just delicious...

I'm actually comforted by the fact that we still have a lot of developing plot points for WHA. The curse, Olruggio lore, Coco's 3rd test, undoing the spell on Coco's mom, brimhat lore, and moreee.

I do not immediately latch on that much on series, and those I've loved has already ended (Gintama, Diamond of Ace, Naruto [no I do not and will not follow Borut0].

I'm in for a long ride this time.

Custas had white hair during his Silverwood transformation and reverted to dark hair. Qifrey obviously has one. I can be convinced it's just Beldaruit's natural trait, but what if he's also one? Considering he also hangs out in a forest of Silverwood trees in the Great Hall, I can't shake off the fact.

Still thinking about how one can even apply as a Watchful Eye. Do you submit an application and wait for an assignment? An acquaintance establishing an atelier and wants you to be it and you submit your applications? A Wise appoints them?

Because as much as we joke about Qifrey getting his bff Olruggio with nepotism, it's very detrimental to his duty. Look how easy it was for Qifrey to direct Olruggio's attention to matters directly related to things Olruggio should be watching.

Qifrey knows him too well. This time he was easily deceived by a smile and a wine, although credit to Qifrey for being such a smooth liar.

At least even with the events in the anime so far, you can't explain the current events without explaining how they got that bottle of ink. Which leads to the question of does Olruggio even know everything that happened in Kahln? Olruggio knows Coco was a victim of forbidden magic, but to what extent? Because if he knew, he would insist on going with them in Kalhn after that flooding incident. Or at least call the Knights Moralis back (which I think was unlikely considering they just shook them off and he's very protective of everyone).

Present Qifrey is the amalgamation of everyone who came into his life, but I'd like to think Olruggio is the most influence he had that it comes too naturally for him to lie to everyone like this. For someone whom he knew for the most of his life that he can remember, I just know it hurts him so much especially when the people he's lying to are the people he also loves the most.

It hurts more when he knew he will be forgiven by Olruggio nevertheless no matter how many times. Because it's the kind of lie a friend makes up, right?

Sometimes I read Qifrey and see traces of Beldaruit. Even the same brand of cheekiness like that chapter in WH kitchen. Bel sent him the starchovies that can only be enjoyed with lots of cooking prep and Qifrey said thanks by having Bel wait 😭.

Also in line with this, can we discuss how loaded that family actually was? I can understand Beldaruit being a Wise and Olruggio with his contraptions + commission fees + patent fees (do they even have that), but how much does a professor actually make in that universe? It was Olruggio who suggested gifting Bel, but I don't think Qifrey would have him pay for that wine.

Putting my thoughts in here because I'm too shy to directly quote Shirahama-sensei 😅

I love it when my suspicions are being confirmed by Shirahama herself 😭. Olruggio knows how much expectations normal people place on witches, even child witches.

I'm thinking he can teach them that expectation while being in control of the situation, unlike during his time when he learned this the hard way. We see him chapters later that he despaired and was still even dealing with the trauma of that day (he's just vv good at hiding). He really said, no traumatized child on my watch.

He's still the Watchful Eye after all.
