Continuing non sburb dirk thoughts, I also think that he’d end up catfishing people but specifically in a situation where he’s like on gardening forums roleplaying as Barbara the 60 year old gardening amateur, birding enthusiast, and two time divorcée because he feels like expressing any sort of genuine interest in a hobby would crack his coolguy (tm) persona like a particularly disillusioned egg so his solution is to implement ‘failsafes’ that either distance him from emotional vulnerability or allow for plausible deniability were anyone to find out or approach him about it. Anyways this whole mess ends up being pointless because he gets really into it and ends up ordering seeds in bulk so like. Everyone knows.
