Preserving the Flow: A Water Conservation Crusade
My friend Zoe and I were relaxing on the beach for our vacation and suddenly we saw that the water in the world began to dry up completely with a lot of chaos. After looking at each other we realized that the only way to solve this was to go back in time. However, to do this we need to steal a special time-travel machine which is a backpack from a protected company. And most importantly, discover the cause of this tragedy.
So I said to Zoe, "We definitely need to find out what the main causes of pollution and water shortages are."
To which Zoe confidently replied: "Leave it in my hands I'll take care of it".
Of course, we found out that there are famous and large companies, dominating the fashion, food, technology and oil industries, that have been in breach of water pollution and water use laws and regulations since 2005. Immediately we both went to infiltrate the company, and somehow managed to steal the backpack. We then teleported back to 2005, and appeared in the bathroom of a big karaoke bar.
Zoe told me: "Javiera this is perfect, we appeared in a crowded place to camouflage ourselves, now let's think how to stop these industries before it's too late".
We devised a plan, and we gathered all the owners of these powerful industries to threaten and warn them.
Then I told them, "we already know what horrible secrets they commit and how they break the law, so if they don't stop using the natural resource to abuse it for money, then we will do two things; first we will expose their darkest secrets to the whole world and the second thing is that we will sue them for disrespecting the law and the environment”.
And Zoe ended the meeting by warning them: “Finally I would like to show you the picture of the world without absolute water in the future because of you, and scientists like me can no longer do anything about it because it is irreversible”.
As a result, they decided to make their products more ecological, promote recycling and importance through campaigns, and mostly stop the manufacture of polluting materials such as plastic, among others. And we go back to our time in the year 2043, to see that everything has indeed been resolved and the world is cleaner due to the mentality and actions of the people.
