New chapter of the Christmas Kastle fic is here a day late! First few lines under the cut!!

Frank Castle used to love Christmas. When he was younger, it had been a time of joy, with snowball fights and cookies and lights and presents. As he grew older, he found people to celebrate it with— while he was overseas, it was his brothers in the service with him, finding whatever scraps of joy in the season that they could.

And at home, it was Maria, Lisa, and Frankie. Watching his kids unwrap presents, excitement lighting up their faces. Catching Maria under the mistletoe at some friend’s party. Singing along to Christmas carols with all three of them on the way home, snow ghosting across the windshield as he drove. Yeah, he’d loved spending Christmas with them.

But then, a year and a half ago, everything had changed. His kids, his wife— they were gone, murdered by a group of bloodcrazed gangs. Frank had almost died, too— there weren’t many who could survive a bullet to the head. But against all odds, he had.
