THE DARK SIDE OF MYTH & FOLKLORE: MARZANNA
In Slavic mythology, Marzanna (also known as Mara, Morena, MarĆŸena, Morana, MorĂ©na, Mora, and Marmora) was a goddess of winter, death, and sometimes magic. In Slavic countries, an effigy of Marzanna is burned and drowned in March to symbolize the end of winter and the triumph of spring.

ââ« â see, this is why i didnât. thereâs no viable proof you wonât bite me with THIS attitude, damn! you treat all your visitors like this? you must be real fun at parties (y'know, if people actually invited you to them, which I canât imagine is a thing). â
â No, only Americans and sometimes Poles if I am feeling particularly bitter. â Though heâs joking, thereâs no wink or nudge to betray his true feelings. He crosses his arms over his chest, rolling his eyes and scoffing.
â Even if I was invited to parties often, I would not go to them, as I feel I have better things to do with my time, actually, thank you for your concern. â

You look like a walking skeleton. What have you been eating, acorns and snow.
No, raw berries and the occasional salmon which I catch from the stream with my teeth, thank you for asking, Natka. I really appreciate your concern for my well-being.Â
â You know, if you are lost, you could have just told me instead of standing there gawking like that. I am not going to bite you, you can ask for directions. It is not difficult. I speak decent enough English, believe it or not. â

I was watching a documentary about a dead American president today and by chance alone I have discovered that I lived in the same apartment complex as Lee Harvey Oswald.Â
