Sea sponge up close - so many fibers and such brilliant colors. I always thought that the sponges just kind of “existed” but, since looking closely - they are very alive! (at The Bahamas) https://www.instagram.com/p/By_s4Kllsk7/?igshid=1bmat7yy7hz5a

Found sea “thing”. I want to say it’s something that clings to the reedy bottom, line a sea fan. In any case, it’s very striking with the repeating patterns. #travel #traveling #worldwide #beach #foundobject #sea #ocean #itsalive (at The Bahamas) https://www.instagram.com/p/By2SiiTFHhi/?igshid=1ippvf538ix7m
I found these images again and I think they are so beautiful. Sometimes after a trip, I feel overwhelmed being back home. It feels like I’m always striving to find the perfect work and personal balance doing photography full time. Often I’ve thought about doing other things, but I just can’t imagine life and living without looking through a lens. - - Stand by for an intriguing series on found ocean objects. I spent hours and days photographing seaweed, sponges, shells and other interesting objects. I also found the smallest sand dollars (only as big as my pinky thumbnail) and seeing a whole new world through a 100 macro lens. Because of this experience, I take this lens with me when we I go somewhere. - - #macro #macrophotography #canon #canonusa #seashells #seaweed #thebeach #beach #bahamas #bimini #biminibahamas #biminibliss #vacay #artist #traveler #travelersnotebooks #artists #artistslife #lens #travelphotography #abstract (at The Bahamas) https://www.instagram.com/p/Byv8IwJluQp/?igshid=1c4r7l24j8t87

On our way out of town and we entered a winter wonderland in Vail. We ventured up a road and hiked up to a spot so I could take a few photos of the last winter snow of winter. I love this little guy so much! He is the sweetest little soul and I’m so grateful that he came into my life! For those that don’t know, Elliott was an emergency foster request. I picked him up at the Denver Shelter not knowing a thing about him. He cowered fearfully when his leash was handed to me and cried/howled out of uncertainty in his crate on the way home. Once we arrived, he would not stop pacing - he went from window to window. He wouldn’t eat nor use the bathroom and he would not come near me. I had never personally seen a dog so damaged. As the day went on, he became a little bit curious about me, but he wasn’t accepting any food or touching. At bedtime, he paced back and forth in the bedroom, his little toenails clicking on the wood floor. He would not relax and so I finally cornered him and put him on the bed. He didn’t know what to think and then, BOOM, he was by my side, curled up. I don’t want him ever to leave. I’ve made a promise to never hurt or break his trust and to do whatever it takes to give him a great life. I will never (willingly) let him go. #furbaby #love #dogsofinstagram #doggie #doggy #myfavorite #elliott (at Colorado) https://www.instagram.com/p/BwvPXDwFgHh/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=e7udke5czp5q
“We travel, initially, to lose ourselves; and we travel, next to find ourselves. We travel to open our hearts and eyes and learn more about the world than our newspapers will accommodate. We travel to bring what little we can, in our ignorance and knowledge, to those parts of the globe whose riches are differently dispersed. And we travel, in essence, to become young fools again- to slow time down and get taken in, and fall in love once more.” ― Pico Iyer (at Japan) https://www.instagram.com/p/BwqgEZTl3D6/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=176932sna3khw
For as long as I can remember, I’ve always dreamed of finding a Native American artifact. Pretty hard to do growing up in Hawaii! 🤣🤣🤣 However, dreams do come true! We were hiking up a wash and something caught my eye around mile 2. At first, I thought it was glass, but it was very heavy. Rob immediately knew it was some kind of tool. We took photos of it and placed it back. #canyonlands #canyonlandsnps #canyonlandsneedlesdistrict #canyonlandsnationalpark #travel #nativeamericanartifacts #ancient #lucky #hiking #optoutside #rei #wandering #camping #nationalparks #nationalparkservice #lnt (at Canyonlands National Park) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bv2sSlIFzQQ/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=acby9qguinyq
Spent a solid week in the back country of Canyonlands, Needles District. It was amazing! Hiked a lot and saw many Native American pictographs including the Cave of 200 hands! I sure do appreciate a soft bed and warm shower more than ever now! This photo was made at the Horsehoof Campground. My settings were a bit off but I still like the results! Unexpected bucket list item checked off: Photographing wild horses in a snowstorm. Only got a few frames off, but - WOW. What an experience! You know how when you're in a snowstorm and you hear nothing, no sound at all? That was the scene. We had woken up to sunshine at Chaco Canyon and 30 minutes later, it was almost a whiteout with snow! We gave up our planned petroglyph hike and hurriedly packed up and took off. Along the road (26 miles from the highway, partial dirt and washboard) we came across a group of wild horses, covered in snow, just grazing. I couldn't believe the sight, it was so peaceful.....I felt like I was in a movie. #chacocanyon #hiking #newmexico #justgo #chaco #wildhorses #wildhorsesofinstagram #snowstorm #random #traveler #newmexico #newmexicolove #travel (at Chaco Canyon National Historic Park) https://www.instagram.com/p/BuGGpBOFVi8/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1d20rqnq25ooe
Enjoying a quick getaway to check out this amazing place again! The last time I visited was at least 20 years ago.
