So, let's talk about laughing during sex. Because with Ian Gallagher and Mickey Milkovich in a room, something funny is bound to happen. Mickey keeps telling Ian to go harder and Ian snaps his hips and Mickey's head smacks against the wall. Or they try to switch positions and fall off the bed. It doesn't stop anything because they can't help but be into each other but they do take a minute to laugh about it.

oh HELL yeah. is there anything better than that? laughs that turn all breathy and then give way to moans, or smiling through kisses AGH yeah that's the good stuff!!!! i love them getting to have FUN with sex. it used to be so hurried and serious and now they get to TAKE THEIR TIME and be silly and try new things 🥰 sex is not always sexy lmao, i love when we can acknowledge that! they're not always gonna be smooth lol, sometimes sex is downright goofy 😇

Running

This was something I started for a drabble a while back but I didn't want to cut it down so it was just sitting on my computer. Been thinking about that episode a lot with all the posts from it I've seen lately. Enjoy! -------

It was all so crazy. On the run from the feds. Driving in a stolen car. Running for their lives. But Ian wouldn't have it any other way. He thought about the dark nights he'd been swimming in, not entirely understanding why he'd been so unhappy as of late. Just trying to get through every day. Had a job he liked. A perfectly nice boyfriend. Everything seemed to be going well. It was what he wanted, right? But it only took two words and nothing else mattered. He didn't think about the boyfriend waiting for him or the job he worked so hard for or the family that meant so much to him. The man laying glued beside him was all that mattered from the minute he heard, "miss me?". Because he did. So much. His blood rushed through his limbs as if it was looking for the source of the voice. Seeing him, touching him, felt like coming home after a long stay at a hotel; a nice hotel, with a big bed and clean sheets. Everything you could want. But it wasn't home. Your bed. The shower that you knew how to set the knobs for the perfect temp. The comforter that had a weight that you loved. That was Mickey. They were practically glued as he rocked into him. The station wagon shook with their movements. He held him close. Mickey reached back to pull his head down to his neck as he made little breathy noises.

He'd missed his smell. His skin. He buried his face into his neck as they moved, softer than anyone would probably imagine they were together. The old cd player in the front seat stuck on U2's With or Without You but neither of them cared. Just letting it play over and over as they played over and over.  

Running away only brought him closer to home.

When we talk about the autonomy of suicide, it's almost always discussed from the side of the right to die — which is definitely important and does need to be accepted by more of society. But there's also the side of the right to live. Until society stops punishing people for their existence and depriving them of what they need, the autonomy of suicide for everyone cannot be reached. Because when people are killing themselves because of changeable, societal structures, that is not a completely autonomous decision. It is one that has been forced upon them.

Suicidal people will always exist and people who will always be suicidal exist and that is not inherently an issue that needs to be solved. But it becomes an issue when people are forced into it. Currently, suicide prevention involves institutionalizing suicidal people, telling them that they must survive, by any means possible, but so many of them have been told the opposite for their entire lives, implicitly or otherwise. Suicide prevention should involve working to improve society, making it a livable and survivable place for all people. Only then will the autonomy of suicide be achieved. Otherwise, so much of it is social murder.

In short, "Don't kill yourself 🥺" isn't enough — solving the why behind it is.

They must have spent quite a bit of time at the bleachers, Ian and Mickey. Mickey calls it “our spot”, and we know that after season two they didn’t touch the dugouts until late season five-that one stolen moment when they fought and fucked on the diamond before it all went to hell.

And a lot of the dugouts scene actually implies that this is a first for them. When the sprinklers go off, Mickey says “Always wanted to do that here!” like it’s not something they’ve done before. When they get there in season five, Mickey says, “haven’t been here since that time we banged,” not only stating that they’ve just never been there since, but also Mickey says, “that time”. Like it’s specific, like it only happened once. Ian in season six mentions to Lip he’d had sex in the dugouts “a couple times”, namely the two occasions in season two and five.

So when Mickey comes back, why would he choose the place he’s only been a handful of times? He chooses the high school bleachers and calls it “our spot, man”. We only see them go there once, but they must have been a lot more, then.

Maybe his first choice would have been one of the abandoned buildings he and Ian used to hang out in, but perhaps it had too many painful memories. Perhaps he and Ian never went back to one of them after the two disastrous attempts for Ian to talk to him after the events of 3x6. Perhaps they’ve been rebuilt.

So he chooses the high school bleachers. And I don’t know, he and Ian hanging out there just warms my heart. They must have done it a bunch more times that we were never privy to.

Debbie, bewildered: He just tried to stab someone

Ian, shrugging: I said cute not harmless

Ian teaching Mickey to drive: Okay, you're driving and Lip and Carl walk into the road. What do you hit? Mickey: Lip, obliviously Ian, rubbing his temples: No, Mick. The brakes. You hit the brakes

Mickey: Your existence is confusing Ian: How so? Mickey: Your presence is annoying but the thought of anything bad happening to you upsets me

Mickey: Don’t go picking a fight with me. I could make your life very difficult Ian, sarcastically: Wow. I wonder what it’d be like to have a difficult life
