Drawing some Weasley today. The little sis and the old brother some years after the war.

do you think teaching is the career remus would have picked even if he didn't have such limited options? like if he could have had any job he wanted, do you think he'd choose that or something else?
I actually think teaching came quite naturally to Remus, and I get the impression that he enjoyed it very much. I don’t think it’s outside the realm of possibility for him to want to teach if he weren’t a werewolf, or if the Umbridge-era laws hadn’t gone into effect. But it’s difficult to say, too, because if Remus isn’t a werewolf it changes a huge part of why he developed the way he did. Whole swaths of his personality may change in a universe where he was never bitten.
So what kind of jobs may Remus have been drawn to? Certainly his natural talent with DADA gives him ample career choices, but Remus seems to have a certain fondness for creatures as is implied in his classes, and a remarkable talent with dueling and wandless magic. Remus could have found work as an Auror, particularly after fighting Voldemort. Or, he could have begun work in the Ministry, specializing as his father did (except Lyall was a non-corporeal entity sort of expert). But I don’t think something as hot-shot a a Cursebreaker would have appealed to him, either. On the flipside, he would have avoided anything to do with potions I think. He says he’s terrible at potions. But he could sell them, and as a people person Remus is able to do reasonably well behind a counter.
To be honest, I think Remus enjoys a bit of structure in what he does, though. Retail and co-workers and paperwork will not appeal to him forever, but neither will a high-strung job, like the auror thing. Remus is bound to be somewhere in the middle, perhaps working with dark creatures and their removal or in the education of people about them. He really has a knack for his subject, and having spent 12 years out of the limelight and to still be very highly qualified to teach all grades at Hogwarts really says something about the passion with which Remus studied all those years, because we don’t know what he was doing to say that it was a job, etc. His tests and exams are very hands on, and Remus is one of those people who prefer hands on, to see the results of what they do in order to gain satisfaction. I definitely don’t think he’s the magical Orkin man (exterminator) or anything, but he could have liked a job where he’s tasked with handling the dark creatures or removing them from problem areas. Actually this is one of the areas I have the most blanks in for him, because there’s so little information about wizarding jobs. So I hope you don’t mind if I actually open this for discussion? I’m curious about other people’s ideas, too.
the most realistic thing about harry potter was how incompetent every minister of magic was
How the setting looks in my head:
How the description comes out on the page:
Oh, were you having a good day? Here, have a young, sad Remus Lupin. You’re absolutely miserable thinking about what he went through now, aren’t you? Well, THAT MAKES TWO OF US. SUFFER WITH ME.
TODAY WAS 90% GARBAGE BUT I COME HOME TO SEE THIS AND ITS NOW ONLY ABOUT 85% INSTEAD.

i think about the fact that somebody chose to end a multimillion dollar franchise movie on this scene at least once a week
please
House siblings.
Me at Hogwarts: tries to add “fucking” to all the spells, blows myself up, gets kicked out probably
i have two approaches to canon
So if we extrapolate from this one-off line in episode fifteen, as well as this tweet by the creator and the answers given at this comic con panel from 2014, we can infer that this character’s relationship with salad is more complex than it first appears …
*pulls down sunglasses and points a flamethrower at the source material* Death of the author, baby.
I like to think Teddy’s style is a mixture of what Lupin and Tonks would wear. The messy hair is his godfather’s influence :D I love this boy so much.

Word Count: 2626 Rating: Mature (sexual content/sexual themes + alcohol/smoking) Summary: Nymphadora Tonks has at least three (3) feelings about Remus Lupin Warnings: None, aside from aforementioned sexual content Excerpt: In the easy quiet of his bedroom, laughter keeps war at a distance. The threat of capture, the threat of loss, nights illuminated by spellfire: all flaring at the edges— peripheral, unreal. Some mornings when she is pouring milk into her tea her hands shake and she thinks of him, very far from her sunlit kitchen, and expects his absence when she arrives at the row of terraced houses; on these days she finds excuses to touch him, to confirm the solidity of one forearm or shoulder.
