rosekiller learning to love themselves again because of the love they give each other
rosekiller
Evan Rosier hates it when people imply he needs fixing, or tell him things will change once he finds the right person, as if his asexuality were a problem. Then he meets Barty, and āfinding the right personā finally makes perfect sense. Maybe thatās not what those idiots meant when they talked about finding the right person, but for Evan, thatās exactly what it means.
originally posted on Tumblr and now on AO3: English - FranƧais
evan eventually begins to worship barty as a god instead
You guys I love when Rosekiller act soft with each other. Like just imagine Barty cooking Evans favorite meal for dinner cuz he knows that Evan had along day at work. Evan reading to barty until he falls asleep(cuz Barty has insomnia). Barty softly peppering Evans face with kisses in public. And Evan letting Barty lay on his lap and strokes his hair after Barry gotta s call from his father. Like you guys ā¹ļø. Theyāre so ā¹ļøā¹ļøā¹ļøā¹ļø
(Also Evan is an ed nurse and Barty is an 8th grade math teacher)
Barty: It happened again..
Evan: That's the 3rd time this week
Barty: How do my fishes keep drowning
Evan: This one was also called Regulus?
Barty: Yeah...
Evan: Interesting
evan rosier has never given a good answer to a question in his life
"i'm really hungry, what should i eat?" "food."
"why did you do that?" "why not"
his communication skills are dead and buried under the ground and he pretends like he doesn't understand why it pisses off the rest of the pantheon but in full honesty he just enjoys ragebaiting the living shit out of all of them
rosekiller are either the two angstiest pieces of shits ever and have the worst situationship known to man or are the healthiest relationship in the fic, there is no in between.
Evan Rosier, asexual, hates being touched; he hates caresses on his body, kisses on his neck, he detests lingering stares and insinuations; he hates being looked at with desire and lust, he hates being seen as nothing more than a body. He hates the pathetic tones and the pleas for him to get naked, to get involved, to make an effortā¦
He hates it when people imply that he needs fixing, or tell him that things will change once he finds the right person. He hates how those thoughts, which arenāt even his own, creep into his mind and try to validate those idiots. He hates telling himself that perhaps he is the problem.
Until he meets Barty. Barty is weird and obsessed with sex, but he is also a good listener and attentive.
He was the one who helped Evan reclaim his body and accept himself, making him understand that the problem wasnāt him, it was how people viewed his body; it was their projections that made him feel disgusting. Evan isnāt disgusting; heās beautiful and perfect, and he shouldnāt have to hide from idiots and their nasty stares, theyāre the problem, not Evan. And he can wear whatever he wants, because itās his body and he can own it however he pleases, and no one has any say in the matter.
It was Barty who made him love physical contact, who made him love touch and kisses, because Barty never goes too far; he takes only what Evan is willing to give, and he never complains when Evan tells him heās overstepping or simply isnāt in the mood. Barty doesnāt force things; he steps back, giving him space while remaining attentive to his needs.
They have never made love, but Barty doesnāt use a pitiful, whiny tone to beg him, to ask for more than he wants to give.
It was Barty who made him realize there was nothing broken about him. Not with words, not with grand speeches, not by trying to convince him, but by loving him in a messy, chaotic way, by simply being there, listening, and never overstepping his boundaries. By showing him every day that there is nothing wrong with being weird and different.
Barty did nothing more than take him as he is and love him that way, without asking him to change, adapt, or conform.
Evan hates proving those idiots right, but if thereās one thing thatās true, itās that everything changed when he found the right person. Because he no longer has to hide, he is no longer afraid to say no, to say he isnāt in the mood. He is no longer afraid to put a stop to a make-out session because things are going a bit too far and he feels uncomfortable. He no longer fears lustful gazes and caresses on his body, for he knows that it will all come to an end, without drama or lamentation, the moment he says āstop.ā Evan is no longer afraid to go shirtless or sleep naked, because he knows no one will accuse him of being a tease or doing it on purposeā¦
Actually, maybe that wasnāt really what those idiots meant when they talked about finding the right person, but for Evan, thatās exactly what it means. Finding the right person means finding someone who makes him feel safe and loves him without wanting to change him.
And Barty is the right person.
Evan has very strict rules that Barty must follow during foreplay and sex, but he makes it clear that once their little game is done, Barty is free to be himself. But Barty has lost sight of who he is without Evanās rules, so much so that, when the games end, he finds himself waiting for his next order, unable to move or act on his own. The rules are all he knows; without them, the world feels unformed, his own desires blurry and untrustworthy.
Sometimes, when Evan leaves, Barty sits in the silence, staring at his hands, unsure if he should take a shower, get dressed, or just stay where he is. He feels hollow, like the rules are the only thing that give him shape. When Evan is away for days, Barty sleeps in the same position, barely eats, waiting for the next command to tell him who to be.
He starts to wonder if he ever had a self at all, or if heās just a vessel for Evanās desires, a puppet with cut strings, slumped and useless when Evan isnāt there to pull them.

reblog if you agree
They wanna ruin their friendship
The only person Barty feels comfortable being submissive to is Evan
Barty likes to go through everyone's Father's Day posts and play smash or pass
Evan: Iāll pay. Barty: No, me. Barty: *taps card first* [card declines] Evan: HA! *taps card* [card also declines]
my favourite version of rosekiller will always be teenage dirtbag rosekiller
i dont want them to be insane deranged killers i just want them to be stupid teenagers who are maybe (totally) a little mentally ill
its very important to me that barty and evan are best friends first and foremost
yes they are in love yes they are boyfriends but they are also best friends
