I’ve never seen this happen before: the lilac out back is reblooming. It lost almost all of its leaves during the drought this summer but in the areas that still have a few leaves there are blooms! Tomorrow I’ll see if I can cut one stem so I can smell lilacs in October. Amazing.

This lilac is over 100 years old and as far as I can tell no one has ever seen it bloom in autumn before.
