This question is relating to a fic i’m writing (for Kai and Pixal lol) so do you think it would be ok if I use certain parts of your answer in my fic? (I can totally give you credit for it if you want)

What do you think Pixal would wear when she’s alone/she has free time to herself around the monastery? So like casual clothes basically :3

And What do you think she’d wear to go out to Ninjago city or just to leave the monastery?

In the show she literally only wears her samurai X uniform (like how all the ninja Always only wear their gi lol) so I have such a hard time thinking of what she would wear T-T (show writers vs exploring Pixal as an actual character challenge)

Being the child of two Elemental Masters has side effects on the child. Not that anyone really knows about that.

The first „side effect“ is that no child has survived birth until Kai. The elements want to move in to its next master but since there’s two elements and only one host, they fight inside the child. That fight is too much for a newborn and the child passes shortly after birth. If the child even gets born.

Kai miraculously survived thanks to a shit ton of healing tea and pure stubbornness.

The side effects that since appeared in Kai was that he was a weak child. He was lacking in his growth and abilities when compared to kids his age. Every time Kai was sick his parents (and Wu and Garmadon) would panic. But every time Kai mad it out okay.

When Kai was two and a half years old he started to get better really quickly. The reason? Maya was pregnant with Nya. At the time no one could explain it, it would take years until Kai and Nya figured it out, but Nya being on her way made one element chose her as its new host. Leaving Kai as the master of fire. The first think Nya ever did was save her brothers life. Without her Kai likely wouldn’t have made it to adulthood.

Given that the element stayed with Kai for roughly three years he has some interesting quirks.

The reason he is afraid of water is because he has an odd connection to it. He can feel the unpredictability of the water but feeling that and knowing you can’t do anything about that freaks him out. But at the same time water can be a comfort as long as it isn’t a large body of water-

Nya on the other hand has some fire resistance. She still gets a burn but it takes her longer to get one compared to others. She overall has less of the side effects because she never lived with both elements.

And on that note, had Nya not turned human again there would have been a large chance that the water would see Kai as its next host instead of returning to Maya or going to someone else. That would have resulted in Kai getting weaker and getting sick again. Probably would have ended with Kai dying. No matter how strong one person can not truly handle multiple elements.

The tournament is different because the elements only have a new host temporarily, the effects would have set in after a few months with their new host. Nokt would have eventually not been able to handle everything if he had kept the elements-

Cole's mom got sick because she was in shintaro with the geckles and munce for way too long and got overexposed to Vengestone. Normally in small amounts or for short periods of time it just gets an elemental master a little queasy, but Lilly was in an environment with a lot of it for who knows how long. The ninja actually all get pretty sick after Master of the Mountain (and zane starts glitching) and Cole basically has a mental crisis because he recognizes the symptoms a little too well

Okay so a few weeks ago my friend sent my this recording of a version of Romeo and Juliet that includes one of Adrianne Lenkers songs “Not a lot, just forever” in one of its final acts, And it gave my inspiration to analyze the parallels between the song and the story of (primarily) Juliet.

Pls Take into account that this was a pretty quick analysis and I only did the final half of the song (the part that was included in the play)

“Not a lot just forever” -Adrienne Lencker

“And your dearest fantasy is to grow a baby in me, I could be a good mother and I wanna be your wife”

Like she was created to bare children, that was her parents greatest fantasy. But Juliet doesn’t want to only be seen as a mother, a nameless figure who bares the children of a stranger. She could be a good mother, but she Wants to be loved. Not only as a mother to her children, but loved by the partner she’s trapped with forever. Her life, its not a lot, its short, but its also forever when she dies and goes to heaven.

After meeting Romeo however its different, “not a lot just forever” is Juliet pleading to have a little while longer with her love, its not a lot that she’s asking for its simply forever, forever in paradise (heaven) where they’ll meet after their wedding vows and their deaths.

“(So I bash around the house) And the poison stains my mouth”

This one’s pretty self explanatory

“And we share a paradise”

They share a heaven, a sanctuary where they are free to love each other forever.

“Can’t get much better”

Juliet seeing the stars of her heaven dead beside her, thats where her life ended, there was no leaving this.

Also as a nod to another Adrienne Lenker song theres a line in the song “Anything” that goes “weren’t we the stars in heaven?” Theres this really beautiful line in the book from Juliet:

“Give me my Romeo; and, when he shall die, Take him and cut him out in little stars, And he will make the face of heaven so fine, That all the world will be in love with night And pay no worship to the garish sun.” -Juliet

“Weren’t we the salt in the sea?”

“My bounty is as boundless as the sea, My love as deep; the more I give to thee, The more I have, for both are infinite.” -Romeo

“Dragon in the new warm mountain, Didn’t you believe in me?”

Is directly connected to the Big Thief song “Dragon New warm mountain | I believe in You”

Juliet believed in Romeo, that he would wake her from her tomb. She trusted him with her life.

“Didn’t you believe in me?”

Juliet asking Romeo if he believed in her, trusted her with his own life and love. While Romeo isn’t informed she’s not actually dead he fully believes that she killed herself, that she didn’t wait for him. He didn’t believe in her as she had trusted him.

Also a little interesting thing that ties this all together lol: ‘Dragon new warm mountain’ by BigThief is about their connection to one another as a band.

Duskfall hasn’t even come out yet but I have so many random headcanons for Jin and Kai T-T

I don't like it when ppl dumb down any of the ninja tbh. I mean yea they're dorks but I do believe they're all smart but in different ways. The Ninja I see being dumb down the most r Kai nd Jay.

Ik that Jay was dumbed down and destroyed by the writing anyway but that guy is rlly smart. I always saw him as one of the intelligent ninja yk.

But also lloyd is suddenly just an innocent child in fan fics??

Oh and in one fic Zane was just like the guy with autism?? This doesn't rlly count as making him stupid but it bothered me😭 Likeee he can have autism without it being his whole personality or not???

To add on to this, I find Certain characters (cough cough Kai) are also very frequently dumbed down emotionally. (This is an issue within the fandom And the actual show)

The main victim of this, imo is Kai. He is often portrayed as being hotheaded, emotionally immature, etc.. The main issue with him being portrayed like this is the fact that he’s always made to be one dimensional, any and all emotional nuance is completely lost. Which ends up seeping into his relationships. Any hypothetical (primarily platonic) relationship with characters like Jay, Wu, Garmadon, Pixal, etc.. are dumbed extremely down and it’s so frustrating?!

Before Dragons Rising the writers of the show clearly weren’t very interested in exploring his character at All unless they required him for part of the plot, same goes with Pixal and Zane.

That being said, there are a few fics that are extremely well done in their depiction of Kai. They often show him in a new, interesting, and nuanced light! I treasure fics like these, and I strongly admire when authors are willing to actually understand and write heavily misunderstood/watered down characters like Kai.

Ofc Kai’s not the only victim of this, he’s just the best example I personally can think of lol

Btw I would lovelovelovelove to share some nuanced Kai fics if anyone is interested, there are some Amazing authors out there!!! :3
