Hc that Sirius didn’t realize how much he touches Remus until someone points it out.
It’s just natural to him. A hand on Remus’s shoulder when he laughs. Leaning against him in the common room. Tugging on the sleeve of Remus’s jumper when he wants his attention. Resting his head on Remus’s knee when they’re studying on the floor.
Remus never reacts to it. Never pushes him away.
Then one day Marlene walks past them in the library and just goes, “Do you two realize you’re practically sitting on top of each other?”
Sirius freezes. Remus blinks.
Sirius immediately pulls away like he’s been burned and spends the next ten minutes aggressively pretending to read.
Remus lasts exactly three minutes before nudging Sirius’s shoulder with his own and quietly saying, “You can sit back, you know.”
Sirius does.
But for the first time in his life, he’s hyper-aware of every point of contact, and oh shit—he’s totally, and utterly, fucked.
I hope you know you really ate that
