Pan and Rosie: The Catacombs
Two in the morning, and Rosemond needed water. She may also have needed an excuse to leave Ravenclaw Tower without being disturbed by her dorm mates. Still, it wasn’t a lie… water was certainly involved. She was finally going to do it. Rose Trelawney was going to confirm just how amazing the prefects’ washroom was, and quite possibly take a dip in what she’d heard called, “a swimming pool of a bathtub.”
That is, until she spotted Pan, who appeared to be performing a task of similar secrecy. After all, what student briskly walking about Hogwarts at two in the morning, frequently glancing behind him or herself, couldn’t be up to something secret? Shuffling in her bunny slippers and fuzzy pajama pants, Rosemond caught up to her friend and promptly joked, “I don’t suppose this would be at least twenty-five points from Ravenclaw.” Rose grinned. “What sort of trouble are we stirring up this time?”

Fuck. Pan could not believe what an idiot she had been leaving that bundle in the dungeons. What could have possessed her to drop it and not immediately go back for it? If any of the teachers found it… No. That wouldn’t happen. That’s why she was out of the common room at such a ridiculous hour, making her way quietly through the shadows of the castle.
About ten minutes had passed when a voice whispered over her shoulder, almost making her scream. Spinning around sharply, she found herself facing Rose. Heaving a sigh of relief, Pan let her face relax. “Honestly, Rose. Have some good sense. If you’d have spooked me any more we’d both be in trouble.” Whatever Rose was out for was none of Pan’s business, but she didn’t mind telling the girl her own. After all, it wasn’t like Rose would report her for having illegal contraband hidden somewhere in the lower levels. “I have a bit of an issue with something I left somewhere.”
