Announcement.
So, I’ve decided to start anew and archive this blog. I’m keeping it alive, but it’s just not gonna be used. I’m in the process of making the new blog, and as soon as it’s done I’ll post the link and officially change the url of the blog.
I’m still keeping most of my threads, so they’ll be answered over at the new blog.
But are you okay? Like, the one thing I care about most out of the past two weeks is that you're not getting to a point where you're very stressed out with life, and I mean, I care about you. I'm on anon, but if you need help, I can try to help, or you should seek some if possible, or whatever the case may be. I almost let my mental health ruin roleplaying for me, too, so I don't want the same to happen with you.
I wish this wasn’t anon because I feel as if I already aired enough of my dirty laundry out and about but the short answer is no.
No, I’m not.
I’m trying to seek out a therapist, but with the insurance I have I have to get a referral from my gp, and because they assigned me a random doctor I have to go through this big loop hole where I can’t make an appointment until the last monday of the month (which I missed so I have to wait until the end of January, so in all reality I won’t be getting help until February if I’m lucky).
I might archive this blog and start anew. Or put Sophie on hiatus. Idk. I've been making iffy desions that I know aren't the best because of personal reasons (my desperate need for acceptence and trying to feel less...something. I don't know.) But whatever it is is making commit like all the sins of roleplaying that I never used to do before. My own severe depression is destroying the one thing I like to do to make myself feel better and is making other people uncomfortable which I sincely apologize for. I'm also sorry for all of the ooc posts that in hindsight were petty and unneeded. So again, if you've been affected by my admitted awfulness lately I'm sorry.
Its great to hear about a party everyones invited to but yourself
I haven't even clocked in and my manager already started in on me. Awe som.
Kyleigh was relaxing with her feet up on the table, something she knew Barbatos hated, but he was somewhere in the house so it wasn’t like he could see it. A bag of Twizzlers rested on her small bump, the remote for the TV laying next to her on the couch. Liam was upstairs doing something in the nursery and her phone was sitting on the table when it buzzed.
Not wanting to bother Liam to get it for her because she was feeling rather lazy at the moment, Kyleigh got up and reached for her phone. Opening the text from Sophie, she immediately got worried, and her fingers flew across the screen as she wrote back.
[Text: Twinnie] No, no meltdowns. What happened? Are you okay? Do I need to kill someone?
Sophie couldn’t focus on the crappy reality show she usually loved to watch as she waited for a reply. She kept glancing over at her phone on the motel’s nightstand, waiting and waiting for it to buzz, half expecting her mom to call her back before she got a response.
Thank God Kyleigh was a fast typer.
[text; Ky] Too late already having one. I did something bad. Or something good. I’m not sure what it is yet but I’m not okay and please don’t kill anyone.
Give my character unwanted advice
“Lindsey McDonald,” He introduced himeself and used his plastic hand to gesture toward his office. She was obviously nervous, that didn’t tell him too much. This was an actual evil lawfirm, so nerves could be running high even if she was the best in the steno pool.
He closed the door behind them and moved to sit at his desk and reviewed the resume. “So tell me, Sophie, what makes you think you’re ready for the responsibility of being my assitant?”
Sophie offered a smile before following him, taking a seat across from him. “Nice office. It’s all professional and stuff.” She said before realizing how stupid that sounded. “Of course it’s all professional. Sorry.”
Brushing a stray hair away from her face, she began her answer. “I might not have a lot of professional experience, but I’m used to having to file things and answer phones and stuff. I’m super motivated, and I try my hardest at whatever I try to do. Oh, and I’m familiar with some of the, more interesting clientele you may have.”
Liam watched her knowing she was fighting with herself and while he wasn’t the one to give the best advice he felt like maybe he had done something right in saying what he did. She took a drink which told him what she decided and he downed most of what he had poured himself in one large gulp. “I’ll be your drunk buddy slash life coach and keep that horrible influence reputation alive and well.” He said with a bit of a laugh as he leaned up against the kitchen counter with the mostly empty glass watching her. Deciding to give it a go on your own wasn’t easy and she may go right back to how she was when she left the house but that was her choice. He gave her the option not to.
He snickered at the deep moment comment knowing if she hadn’t said something his mouth would have taken it somewhere else entirely seeing as how he couldn’t be serious around many people long. She was in New Orleans and never gave Voodoo a thought? “Okay, well normal people can’t. You’re in the city known for voodoo and I just so happen to know a real voodoo priestess. She’s my non-biological sister but she’s as good as blood to me. Told her what we wanted, she did her thing and we got ourselves kids. She can do some pretty neat shit….but she’s not really good with people at first. Angel and Kyleigh hated each other…well more Kyleigh hated her…but you get the point. Chicks normally don’t get along with other chicks. Some kinda girl code or something.”
“My very own life coach, I feel all special and stuff.” She was trying to make it a joke--the alcohol already hitting her system, making her feel all fuzzy and giddy despite the seriousness of everything. If Sophie was anything, she was a happy drunk. “I’m gonna make you give me all the advice. All of it. Like, even stuff I don’t need to know. I’m gonna be like an annoying little sister that just keeps asking why?’ all the time.”
“Oh. I didn’t even think of that. I was just thinkin’, I don’t know, that it was a thing. I mean, one time when I was really sick back in highschool I stayed home and watched a bunch of that Maury show and there was a lady on there who claimed her twins had different dads. I just thought that it was kind of a freak of nature type of thing.” She said, shrugging, taking another swig. “That’s cool. That she can do that kind of stuff. Never met a Voodoo priestess before. Met a regular which once, but all she did was give me lavender tea to help me sleep.”
“No,” he shook his head. “I’m actually from Canada, believe it or not,” he told her. “But I’ve lived here for a long time, so if it’s doughnut places you’re looking for I can take you there. Sorry, not take you there, show you. Or… Maybe just tell you. Sorry - I’m just a little nervous. I don’t even know why.”
“Canada, huh? That’s cool. I went to Ontario once. I liked it up there.” Sophie said, laughing light. “Nah, you can take me. I mean, if you want. It’s no fun getting food by myself.” She bit her lip. “Hey, I’m glad I’m not the only nervous one here. Maybe there’s something in the water.”
There were two more cars ahead of them, so Kyleigh and Sophie had a little bit of a wait before their massive order of food was ready. Deciding now would be a fun time to call Kyle, Kyleigh took out her phone and started to call. It rang and rang, then finally went to his voicemail and that was how she knew he was with Liam. “Either he’s actually busy or he’s with Liam. I’m going to have to go with the latter. Don’t worry, I’ll keep calling until one of them answers. If not, I’m moving on to the demon. That will be an experience!”
“Oh, um, he kind of scares me. The demon, I mean.” Not that she’s ever met the guy, but from what she’s heard, he would probably not like her too much. “But I mean, if he won’t like, kill me or whatever I’m so down for prank calling him. Everyone gets a prank call tonight.”
