i dont add to posts much but this story fits this one: the first time i truly understood that my father was abusive was when i started to permanently live with my mom after my parent’s divorce. i accidentally broke one of her favorite ceramic plates in the sink while i was cleaning it. My dad would have screamed at me and called me careless and i was so scared and i immediately shrunk down and got ready to prostrate myself when my mom rushed over but then she took my hands to see if they were cut and helped me clean up and i was like “oh im supposed to be loved” lol
