I should be on a plane right now
Instead, life decided to happen with COVID-19. No Shanghai, no him. Instead, I’m reblogging all my old posts that remind me of him now, while he’s already been asleep since this afternoon since there’s a time difference of 7 (seven!) hours.
I should be on a plane right now.
In about 9 hours I should be landing in Pudong, walking out of the gate and right into his arms to stay there the next 10 days. In about 12 hours I should be taking a small nap with him while I get used to the time difference and his presence, and then we’d be heading into town for some amazing hotpot. Instead, I’m going to bed soon because I have a 12-hour day at work tomorrow. Instead, I don’t even know when I’ll see him again since I can’t book a ticket that works with my limitedly valid visa until the virus clears out.
I should be on a plane right now.
The next 10 days should be all about the two of us exploring Shanghai and ourselves, checking off all the crazy plans we made and dream(t) about. They should be all about continuing this insane connection after 1 (one) date and hours of FaceTime on end ever since the past 2 months. Instead, chances are we won’t see each other until the middle of June, when instead of having days worth of time for the two of us, we’ll both be busy working for important deadlines. Instead, I’m now going to sleep by myself, sticking it out and dreaming about our time together still to come...
I should be on a plane right now.
