We have been deep in the creation phase—but will be resurfacing at the Wembley shows this week to hand out small freebie photocards featuring the band and cast members of Long Live the Black Parade.

has the results and check-in schedule changed with the deadline? nothing was updated on the website but i also havent received any results so i'm just making sure that there's not a glitch haha

We've updated the Carrd to reflect the new result announcement date (Sunday, April 26th).
i'm not sure if it's just a glitch on my end, but im trying to apply for merch & the form only takes me to the page art section regardless of which option i pick on the first page ^^"

THANK YOU for extending the deadline!!!! I only found this amazingly sharp and exigent zine recently but will absolutely have time to submit my application now. <3 I do have a question though—is it alright to submit both a writer and an artist application? Can I only be accepted to one, or could I create two pieces exploring the same issue from textual and visual angles?

By all means, go for both! The last thing we would want is to constrain your creativity, and we're very excited to see the different formal approaches you may take to the same idea, how they may complement/be in conversation with one another.

With regards to the "Are there any art objects that you consider The Black Parade to be in conversation with?" question, what would you consider a reasonable number of objects to include? The question certainly seems to be asking for more than one, but I'm unsure if you're looking for depth (2-3) or breadth (5+) in responses. Thanks in advance!

I think 2-3 should be fine! There's really no cap on it, just however many you find necessary to understand your proposal :) Please do not feel the need to force yourself to either lengthen or truncate yourself !

Hey, I wanted to ask if we need to provide examples of our artwork if we're applying to be an artist or if that would come at a later stage. I know it asks for social media links, but my art is scattered and I usually don't put it all online. Just wondering if I should work on that before applying or apply and deal with it later lol. Thank you!
Hi! In the artist application, it's optional to include any social media links. But yes, we are looking to see a few pieces of your completed artwork (5 if you're applying as a page/spread or collaborative artist, 3 if you're applying as a merch artist.) If you don't have a portfolio website, we're looking for a google drive or dropbox folder of those pieces. The application will ask for a link to the folder, just please make sure that anyone with the link can view it.

Hello! Absolutely it would!
We want to analyze the album and its impact, which is why it can be helpful to bring in other art objects/intertexts. The Black Parade is so rich—identifying common themes across different works can be a great way of isolating what you consider to be most interesting about the album, and what you want to focus on in your analysis.
Since it can be difficult to make concrete claims about artistic intention, we wouldn't want the bulk of the work to be on "proving" an influence. If you think a work is related/in conversation, then that's already more than enough! What we're interested in is pushing that inkling of a feeling further, see if it reveals to us something new about the album & the work that it's doing.
Alternatively, if you're interested in examining the era as opposed to the album itself: something that came out after TBP but is still in the general timeframe would absolutely still be part of the conversation!
