i've been an inadvertent fan of horror most on my early adulthood and now well into my adult hood and how it's always worked for me has been is never about the gore or the blood or the screaming it's silly but even when it's the most ham fisted metaphor for unresolved grief, pain and trauma - that's always had a grip on me.

Weapons being a love letter to a friend, tiny little homages and big ones. The latest Conjuring about love and affection being Enough to pull through, the Warrens the focal point of the story but slowly just becoming a love story, the Haunting of Hill House too the same way. It's a bit silly and trite and cliche but it works for me and I'm grateful that there's art out there which still has the ability to move me this way.
