CLAT 2017 - Failing law aspirants every year  !
CLAT was supposed to take away the pain of students who did not want to give several law entrance exams ; In 2007 matter went to court and they decided in their collective wisdom that there should be a common law admission test called CLAT ; but alas! this CLAT was a disaster waiting to happen. Each year, barring the first exam in 2008 - this exam has been mired in controversies.
CLAT 2017 ( 9 years later) has been no different. This year too the CLAT paper has many errors. Students are claiming upto 15 erroneous questions and have raised objections with the CLAT committee. Keeping in mind how things have been tackled in the past years, it would be very surprising if the committee admits to all the errors.Â
The root of the problem lies with the exam paper being set by people who do not check the questions before finalising them. Examiners for CLAT seemed to have copied questions from sources like the internet /text books, but failed to check the quality of the question before using it in the paper. If they had a robust quality check system in place, the students wouldn’t have to face this issue every year,Â
