Whee! A little interlude to get from one plot point to the next.
He wasnāt sure how much time had passed. Minutes? Hours? Days? He came to, purple eyes flitting open and peering about and around at what he could see. Buildings. Large, unfamiliar buildings. And coral and rocks. Something wasnāt right. Though it all made sense eventually. He rose to stand, starting to approach the edge of the rooftop heād found himself on. Eyes peering out at this vast city thatā¦ Didnāt seem to fit in itās surroundings.
āGlad youāve come to.ā Came the familiar feminine voice from behind him. A quick spin and he found himself in front of his reflection. āAh, good. Youāve decided to stop being a little bitch.ā Despite the fire of his words, he had nothing to back it up with. She held all the pieces and he could just stand there and bark away. There would be no bite.
āYou really think you get to talk like that?ā She laughed, seemingly disappearing. Before he knew it he was shoved from behind, Elodi having reappeared. He staggered and stumbled, rounding back to gaze at her again. āListen, Paradyme. Given this is going to be the last time youāll get to hear me talkā¦ā Elodi began, settling on the edge of the rooftop, staring down at the redhead.
āI am more than a mere reflection. I am multiple reflections. Did it not strike you as odd, how I could so easily traverse the realms? Of course you didnāt, youāre a gods damned moron.ā She sighed and shook her head. āI am you. And I am also five other versions of you. And they were so delightfully tasty.ā She grinned, letting the facade fall just a little. Black spewing out from around her in a deadly aura.
His eyes focused and squinted, staring at the white haired midlander. āIs it starting to come together, yet? Iām not your reflection - I mean, I suppose I am, but Iām the one that succumbed. Iām the one from the thirteenth shard. I clawed my way out of the darkness. I fed and fed and fed. And now Iām going to feed on you! But not right away. No, no no noā¦ Iāve a plan in mind for you. Seeā¦ā She spun in the air and settled on the ground.
āIām going to use you. Like a shield, I suppose. Or a weapon? Perhaps both. Iām going to force you to do my bidding, and given youāre powerless, you wonāt be able to stop me!ā Her eyes flashed a red hue, Paradyme averting his gaze quickly. āCome now. Donāt be like that! Youāre going to be my little puppet so your whore can kill you herself!ā She laughed, tone malicious and completely cold.
The anger surged and he broke into a sprint towards her. Glaring daggers and wanting nothing but to just knock her off her perch. He couldnāt get to her in time. The gaze had been fixed, his legs slowed to a stop. Eyes glazed over. He was a thrall. And it didnāt take her long to set her claws into him. āThatās it. Youāre going to fight your little whore. Youāre going to fight your Headmistress and youāre going to fight your dear Knight. And maybe the one thatās now both dark and light that you saved? You fought so hard to save her, didnāt you.ā She spoke so sweetly, her corrupt form morphing into view now.
āI hope youāre ready to die by their hand, beloved Paradymeā¦ā She cooed, the goldsmith just standing there and staring blankly at Elodi. āHow about it, hm? Letās get you ready for the fight. Iāll even give you some aether to get you going! And your lovely little friend back, tooā¦ā She handed off the blade that had anchored him to the Source previously, then having been brought with her to the First. It buzzed with dark energies, clearly something that should not be in anyoneās hands. āWeāll wait and then youāll call out to her. She wonāt resist coming back for her little plaything~ā

"Oh, you've home. Grand. I've been waiting to see you for a long, long time. Two and a half decades, even..."
The blonde man spoke up, bowing at the waist in black clad armor. "Surely you recognize me?" He smirked faintly as he stared down the redhead.
"You're... My father." He answered softly with a shake of his head. "Lucius Voltis. Due to marry my mother. Louise Capellago. Both murdered in their home in Gridania. At least, that was what was expected, but only one body was found. My mother's." He trembled a little as he continued to talk. "My father's corpse was never found. And according to a Garlean Database, they agree."
"Ah, they're still looking for me? Good. I've been hidden somewhere they wouldn't find me, anyway." He grinned from ear to ear and shrugged with his arms out at his sides. "Well. You've certainly grown into a man of wealth and status, no? Your own company. You're a financier for an academy I hear, too? You're doing it all!" He almost sounded like he was proud! Almost.
"You've only just come to find me." Paradyme interrupted with a shake of his head. "I'd like you to leave, please." He stepped aside and motioned to the door. "I can't-- I can't do this. Not tonight." He muttered on. "Please make an appointment and I can see you. I've a busy few days ahe--" Though at this point, Lucius had stepped forward and gripped Paradyme by the throat, pinning him to the doorframe.
"I'm your own father and this is the welcome I get? How fucking dare you, you worthless piece of aether." He growled. "It would seem that you cannot be called anymore. Reason for that?" He asked, laughing, peering over the redhead's form. "That- What is it? That bracer." He pointed out, clearly out of place given it was a single of a pair.
"It's a glove. What of it?" He answered back. To which a firm slap to the cheek was given. The Wasshoi Boys all cowered and squeaked at the slap. A red print left and a little bruising along with it. Eyes bored into him, expecting the proper answer. "It's a lodestone. It's anchoring me here." He answered barely above a mumble so he could hear it.
"Ah! So that's why you're unable to be called." He smirked, the grip on his neck remained, but it loosened. "Take it off. Now." He answered-- No, he ordered. This was an Imperial through and through. And he was clearly above this savage.
"I can't. Iāve tried, if I do I-Iāll--"
"What? Flicker in and out of existance? That's the point."
"What--"
"You really haven't worked it out yet?" He laughed before continuing on, "I'm glad you're home alone or I'd have to have words with that worn-out old whore you've been courting--" There was a flash of red from behind the goldsmithās eyes and he lashed out at that, aiming a kick between Lucius' legs. It hit home and he bust out the door as quickly as possible and ran. He ran and ran and ran. The Boys ended up hopping into one of the pots and disappearing to the Academy to hide.
"Come here!" Lucius gave chase, breaking out the door and sprinting after the flash of red that was ahead of him. Paradyme whistled sharply, and from across the ward, a loud 'wark' rang out. Myriadon began to move quickly, charging alongside Paradyme before being mounted and speeding out of the Goblet and into Thanalan proper.
What he hadn't expected was Lucius to be waiting for him on the road to Scorpion Crossing. A blast of dark aether was shot and Myriadon bucked, knocking the goldsmith off and fleeing back into the Goblet. "You're coming with me. We're going to go to Coerthas! You enjoy that place don't you. Get kidnapped often enough and everytime, it's off to Coerthas with you~" He laughed.
Paradyme was barely moving when he was grabbed by his clothes and lifted to his feet. "I'll just -take- that off." He muttered, attempting to peel the bracer from the weakened goldsmith's hand. Though it wouldnāt budge. It remained firm around his wrist. āFuck it. Fine. Away we go." He grimaced, a ripple of dark opening behind him before they disappeared. This is not what he'd expected from tonight...
āOh, this oneās easy! Idiot! Not. Thatās not a badĀ thing. Gods knows heād probably agree - At first glance he really does seem like a bit of a prat, but when you get to know him, heās a good guy. Iād probably trust him with my life. Probably.ā

Paradyme isnāt often great with words, but he is when necessary, as a merchant. But with a first glance at Carmen, a smile immediately lit up his face. Thatās a warmth that anyone can get used to.
Itās no secret that Leroy is suffering from many, many things. Old Man Syndrome (that poor back), being a dragon, having to kill his wife because she too became a dragon... The list goes on!
But also because in an enraged state he ended up mortally wounding Paradyme. /fingerguns
