It's so tragic that when Superman feels anxious he can go out and listen through the whole wide world to hear Batman's heartbeat and if he's on a mission and needs to be reassured he can use x ray vision to see Bruce's face and his beloved is always accessible to him unless something is terribly wrong which puts Supes heart at ease immediately whenever he sees Bats but Batman must live in the uncertainty and solitude of being painfully human. But he is a solitary and uncertain LOVED human and so when his heartbeat gets erratic Superman shows up to see why and when he needs a comforting face Superman is always right behind a pair of glasses if not bare faced to the world and when Batman needs to know Superman is alive and well he may not be able to hear his heartbeat bur he can look to the newspapers and see him there or check the flight patterns of things going over jet plane speeds and see a new streak he trailed and he can call out Clark's name and somewhere out there Clark will hear him and come, even though he is not made to
