School borosilicate, cork. 2016. I started this piece while in residence at @wheatonarts last summer. Made entirely of pharmaceutical bottles that I flameworked and/or blew out into an antique blowmold. The fish bottle mold was used in the 1800's to manufacture bottles which held medicine (whiskey) and were marketed to women as a cure-all during that time. Some of the forms hold beads that were made from recycled testosterone bottles. #flameworking #borosilicate #boro #school #glassbeads #reuse #recycle
