Please pray for my brother. He just escaped from the home of our very abusive biological father + aunt (they were abusing him and had him on an unofficial house arrest, he hadn’t left the house except to go to work in the 8 months that he was there, and his rent went from $150/month - $400/month, they ran him completely dry to trap him) and is having trouble finding a place to crash, nonetheless stay.

All of our friends have turned out to be fairweather, completely bailing on us and him, and its looking like his only options might be with some really shady “friends” who have repeatedly taken advantage of him, co-erced and pressured into taking/buying drugs for them, and beaten him up multiple times to the point of knocking him out and leaving him on a front lawn — All of this to the point of hospitalization, numerous times.

He’s literally on the other side of the country’s coast and because of his ties to aforementioned shady people above he legally can’t leave the county to be flown up here.

He had a car but got in an accident just three days ago and totaled it, so he can’t even live in that. As soon as he left our biological father took him off of his car insurance as payback for “daring to leave him”. He also took my brother’s bank card and withdrew all the money he had in there leftover from their insane rent ($28).

He hasn’t eaten but once in the past week, and hasn’t bathed in even longer. He has no place to live, nobody will take him, but your prayers, your well wishes, energies, and vibrations you send his way of positivity, protection, and hope will help more then you can ever know.

If you can, please donate so we can somehow send him money for food and pay his phone bill so we can keep in contact. We’re terrified that our biological father will try to find him and hurt him, he’s done things like that before (has a criminal record for horrific spousal and child abuse).

I haven’t seen my brother in almost a year, and it was until this past week and a half that we’ve had contact with him (our abusive father and aunt forbade all contact with anyone who wasn’t them or his boss, they checked his phone multiple times daily).

My family is trying to raise money now so that my Mom and Dad (step-dad who is very loving and I consider my “real” Dad, not my biological father) can fly down to Florida, the state my brother is trapped in, and try to convince the courts to allow my brother to be flown up with us to safety.

If you haven’t read my other posts, my family’s home was foreclosed in this past year and we’ve barely been able to meet rent and feed + clothe + take sick kids to the doctor’s since, not mention buy FIVE plane tickets (two for my parents to go down there, and three to bring my brother home to safety if the courts allow it) AND a rental car (so they can drive to the courts).

The truth is I haven’t seen the devastation, mourning and hopelessness in my Mom’s eyes as bad as it is now since her brother passed on years ago. My Uncle’s life is like a mirror to my brothers, and inside we’re all terrified that my brother’s will end the same way (by his own hand), especially if he ends up on the streets because everyone has bailed on us.

If I lose my brother… I cannot bare the thought. My whole life has been tragedy and darkness for so long (10 family members dead in the last 10 years, horrific abuse of all types, etc.), my brother cannot be added to this list.

with the weather getting warmer I wanted to address something that a lot of people don’t know. if you have a german shepherd, husky, pomeranian, corgi, collie or any breed with a double coat, DO NOT SHAVE THEM DOWN

so many people shave their double coated dogs thinking it will keep them cool in the summer but this couldn’t be more wrong!!! the undercoat actually helps keep them cool!!! by shaving them down you are actually doing more harm than good. without the protection of the undercoat, your dog can easily become sunburned and will feel the heat much more than they would with the undercoat. shaving them removes their ability to cool themselves down

so in conclusion, PLEASE DONT SHAVE YOUR DOUBLE COATED DOGS

the african lion is also estimated to be extinct by 2050 due to habitat loss, sport hunting, and loss of their prey base to the bushmeat trade. these beautiful creatures could be extinct in our lifetime. the next generation may not ever have the chance to see these creatures, there will be no more cute lion vines, there will be no more documentaries, there will be no more zoos or sanctuaries containing lions. there will be no more lions.

It’s not just that they’ll be able to block Drumpf’s policies for the (hopefully only) remaining two years: the entire House of Representatives is up for re-election in 2018. Whoever wins the House in 2018 will still control it in 2020, when we have our next census. This means we voting districts will get to be redrawn and if Republicans retain control of the House in 2020, they will make gerrymandering even worse than it is now, which already favors them.

But the odds are severely in favor of Republicans for 2018. The election is ridiculously lopsided: 23 Democrat seats and both (there are only 2) Independent seats (who Caucus with Dems) will be up for the taking compared to only 8 Republican seats. Not to mention midterm election turnout is always far less than POTUS elections and Republicans consistently turn out for midterms while non-Republicans fail to show up worse than they normally do.

It gets worse. This is the Senate race in 2018:

If you think it’s catastrophic now (and it is), imagine Drumpf and the Republicans with a 60 seat supermajority for two years plus a Republican House with the power to redistrict in 2020.
