I was digging thru the notes of that post about how it’s bad when kids in movies forgive their shit parent for no reason and YES I thought that about ladybird

i really expected to love ladybird because i love everyone who’s involved in it, but the mum was awful and the daughter deserved better. like the dad was all “it’s just because you’re difficult ladybird”, and its like, she was a perfectly normal teenager?? her mum was a bitch who resented ladybird and made her feel bad about literally everything

jane austen was so lit because she wrote about men the way men typically write about women i.e. her stories just centered around women and men were only there for the sake of women, and her books could have been all bitter and sad about the state of women in that century, but instead they’re sweet honest observational stories of friendship, family and love *sighs* what a lady i am sorry i ever doubted you cos I was bored in high school
