Thinking about Paalm and MeLaan.

Because Paalm fell in love with a human, and let herself fall so in love that she defied Harmony for him. She loses her sanity and her life because of her decision to defy Harmony for Wax, and she suffers greatly.

MeLaan watches all this happen. She’s working with Wax and Wayne to stop her. So when she notices herself falling in love with Wayne, falling so in love with him that she doesn’t know if she could leave him if she waits, do you think she remembered what happened to Paalm? Was a part of the reason she chose to leave because she has seen what happens to a kandra who defies Harmony for love?

Just thinking about the parallels between them. MeLaan is what could have happened if Paalm had obeyed Harmony. Paalm is what could have happened if MeLaan let herself love Wayne.

I can’t believe you’re making me do this (aka u sent this one ask and now I’m spiraling headfirst into this au)

-the galaxy is full of space pirates crews who fly from island to island exploring and pillaging planets in search of an allusive "dragon's hoard"/“one piece” (a stock pile of legendary wealth hidden away before the republic fell to the empire)

-monkey d luffy is a tatooine orphan who grew up in mos eisley spending half his time in the cantina where makino works, the other scavenging the desert. he's extremely force sensitive & completely untrained

-luffy's childhood idol is red haired shanks, one of the most wanted pirates in the galaxy. he learns not all pirates pillage, and for some its a freedom and form of rebellion against the empire. when a bandit kidnaps luffy and drags him into the middle of the desert, shanks saves him but loses an arm to a krayt dragon

-jedis have been practically hunted to extinction & its a taboo to talk to them, so when luffy, age 17, stumbles upon mysterious swordlike weapons he doesn't think twice about messing around with them. which immediately backfires ofc, forcing him on the run

-insert roronoa zoro -- bounty hunter (and his reindeer hybrid alien friend chopper who rides shot gun in their junker of a starship). they're on tatooine because, despite chopper's best efforts, zoro is constantly getting them lost

-unlucky for zoro, he has one too many enemies in tatooine & ends up hung on the stocks in the middle of town. luffy strikes a deal -- 'i'll get you out of here if you join my crew, and get us off this planet. STAT!'

-anyways nami is a thief they meet in their travels who slowly has been charting the galaxy's undocumented corners (and save her town which has been enslaved by arlong), vivi = princess leia in this scenario but instead of being held hostage on the death star she infiltrated the empire's ranks, sanji works at the baratie which is a restaurant floating in the middle of the galaxy, usopp lives in a quiet shipping town where strawhats go to find a better craft)

-luffy's main goal is just to find the treasure and explore the galaxy but he ends up inadvertently toppling the entire empire

too lazy to dig up the Big Ideas Post i made on dear 17th shard abt a star wars cosmere AU at this unholy hour but it was real and it was glorious
