ERWIN BLUMENFELD
Regarded as one of the most influential photographers of the twentieth century, the Jeu de Paume Museum at the Tuileries Gardens in Paris welcomes a retrospective of his greatest work. Discover through this exhibition more than 300 pieces of Erwin Blumenfeld, from the 1910's to the 60's. Drawings, photographies, collages, videos and fashion covers, we live through his inspirations from NY skylines, to urban shoots, Vogue fashion covers and nude photographies.Â
If you're in Paris before the 25th of January it is a great and inspiring way to start your year! :)

FRIDA
The museum of L'Orangerie in the Tuileries Gardens welcomes the Frida Kahlo & Diego Rivera exhibition this winter in Paris. Initially planned in 2011 this exhibition is simply incredible as it not only holds the most famous pieces of Frida Kahlo, but it is also the first time the couple's art is presented in the same exhibition.Â
Through the paintings you can see the common passion the two artists had for their country, Mexico, Diego Rivera's strong political point of view and their different art inspirations.
Frida's work is simply incredible and moving, this retrospective is like a autobiography as every piece is a part of Frida's life: her accident, her pain, her lost child, her experience in NYC. You can feel her pain in every piece, and see how her accident, her face were her main inspirations as she spent 2/3 of her life in her bed due to her back problems.Â
My advice would be to buy the tickets online which will allow you to go trough the "fast pass line" and not wait too long. I didn't and waited on line for 3h, but it was worth it!
Information: from October 9 th - January 13th 2014 Open: 9h-18h | closed on Tuesday Price: 10€Â
The famous concept Store “MERCI” welcomes Swildens and Rodier during the parisian Fashion week. Both brands elaborated a concept in the store, Swildens introducing its new winter collection called “YEPA”, that can be translated as ” winter princess”. Clearly inspired by north american indians and ethnics, a wild and bohemian style very close to the designer Juliette Swildens.Â
On the other side Rodier, an old french brand, famous for its knit. Since its repositioning with the AD Emilie Luc-Duc in 2011, the brand has known a real make over. A refreshing, yet sophisticated collection based on knit and cold colors. I personally went for the knitted clutch that i found to be indispensable for this winter ;)
Thank you Merci!Â

A PICNIC AT THE TUILERIES GARDENS <3
3 THINGS TO DO THIS SUMMER IN PARIS
Summer is the time of the year that reminds me why I love Paris: a picnic on the "pont des arts", a drink at a "terrasse", a walk by the Seine. Let's see what Paris has to offer this year, here are 3 of my favourite things to do this summer in the city of lights:
* WATCH A MOVIE AT THE GRAND PALAIS
The Grand Palais, better known for its exhibitions and the Chanel fashion shows, surprises us this year with the "Cinema Paradise". As you come in you'll find that the museum doesn't host masterpieces but a Diner, a drive in cinema and a roller track. Everything makes you feel like you're back in the 50's. Every night playing different movies: Grease, Jaws, Saturday Night Fever...all of the classics ;)
You'll start with a burger at a diner, followed by a little rolling to end watching Grease. AÂ fun and retro way to start the summer!

* VERSAILLE'S GARDENS & MARIE ANTOINETTE'S TRIANON
Only 30 min away from Paris, Versailles is a "must do" when you're in Paris. Although it is a classic I still find it charming to visit the gardens, the fountains and specially Marie Antoinette's little "trianon". A charming little country house next to the castle, initially a gift from Louis XVI to Marie Antoinette. I can see why she loved the place so much, once I'm there i completely forget about the luxurious castle and i'm instantly charmed by this heaven on hearth. A cottage, a pond, a vegetable garden, everything feels so far away from the decadence and makes you see another side of Versailles. A nice little break from the city
(Directions: take the RER C in Saint Michel towards Versailles - if you're planning to do the castle & the gardens i recommend to spend the whole day in Versailles).
* ON THE WATER
Another fun and unexpensive way to spend your summer afternoons in Paris: taking the boat. For 2€ you can take the "navette" a little boat that goes down the Seine. It is less touristy than the "bateau mouche" and makes you see another side of Paris, going from the Villette Garden to the suburbs.Â
(Go to Stalingrad station and ask for the "Navettes" - 2 options: either one way or roundtrip tickets)
IT'S TOO HOT TO WORK...LET'S GO TO THE BEACH <3
No you're not hallucinating, there's an actual beach in Paris! For the last 3 summers, from July 18th to August 20th this year, on the "quais" next to river you'll have a little summer preview. Cocktails, sand, palm trees and deck chairs....every you need while waiting for the real thing.Â
A nice way to relax during the weekend, a fun way to spend your friday nights...
Forget the macaron it is so last season! The new parisien pâtisserie is the "éclair". Initially inspired by a french duchess in the 1850’s, this little piece of heaven is now growing all over town. The first recipe was with chocolat of coffee, but in this little new patisserie in the marais called “l’éclair de génie" you’ll find flavours that will make you head spin: violet, salted caramel, strawberry-passion, vanilla-pecan…
There are so pretty it will be hard to have a bite ;)

SHOOTING DAY IN PARIS…
& OTHER STORIES ...in Paris
After H&M and COS the Swedish giant introduces its new store concept with the brand "& OTHER STORIES". Located in 4 European capitals it was just a matter of time before the store opened in Paris. And it did, last friday on the famous rue Saint Honoré the store revealed a perfect mix of ready to wear, accessories, underwear and makeup.
750m2 of heaven from head to toe at an affordable price!

A weekend in the french countryside...
Frozen Yogurt in Paris...finally
One of my favorite things about NY (after cheesecake) is...frozen yogurt.
Now it may sound crazy but so far we didn't have any frozen yogurt in Paris. Until "The Yogurt Factory" came, a little bit of heaven in a cup...what else can you possibly ask for...
I couldn't wait to try it as I'm one of those people who loves to get ice cream in the winter ;)
* 3 rue Saint Merri 75004Â
Put a Ring On It. I was feeling depressed after looking at a half dozen apartments today (all of which are too expensive and too small), so I hopped the train to Williamsburg and did some damage at my new favorite boutique, Mociun. The minimilist shop is filled with artfully designed home accessories and jewelry. The designer has exquisite taste and an amazing collection of delicate gold rings. I bought two. Now back to apartment hunting. - xx/m
