2D perked as the door opened and followed her inside to set his gift on the table and went to lend a hand with the tea cups, “Found ‘em on the shore when I was shell huntin’ thought of you.” they replied, grinned a chipped smile and handed her the small tin of leaves, “Didn’ name ‘em tho, thought you might like that ‘onor.”

He leaned on the counter and watched her zip around the kitchen, he’d always been pretty blown away with her abilities, a few islanders had strange powers but her’s were the first he’d seen in action.

“You ‘ad something you wanted to talk about?”

Tucked under their arm was a particularly chipped and battle worn deer skull, decorated in a set of pastel paints 2D had laying around the home and maybe, just maybe a few googly eyes with the hopes to make her day a little better as she’d somewhat somber over the chat app. Well, more so than usual which was a cause of concern at least to him.

He made his way up the little path and knocked on her door, “Dia!, is me 2D! Got’chu a friend!”

He huffed back a laugh at that, he’d certainly heard that comment before. “I’ll ‘ave you know, Sophie is a dignified lady and plays only the sweetest tunes.” he faux scolded as he arranging Chou on his back, but grinned all the same.

He hummed thoughtfully as he headed up the hill into town, “I got a little studio at the house if you wanna try. May have to move some zombie props around but I think we can!”

“I’m sure she does! I’d love to hear some sometime. I feel like you’d play good music.” She nods into his shoulder. “I can’t believe you named your guitar, though…” She teases. As they head into a clothes shop, she wiggles off his back.

“Zombies are cool! I’ll try to keep them! They can be my roommates.” She grins, looking around. “Eh… I guess I get the cheapest stuff?” She asked, looking through the clothes with a hum.

They beamed a but at that, "I like to think so!" Admittedly a little excited at the aspect of teaching someone frets and strings. Don't even get him started on the magic he was gonna teach her on the keyboard. "Every good guitar needs a name!" 2D replied bending to let her down from his back so she could look around, "Mm? Oh no, luv don't worry 'bout that. The shoppe pays me decent for fixing keyboards." He said wavung that off. Though that caught him off guard and he couldn't muffle a laugh, "Zombie roommates eh?"

“Hm!, maybe I can teach ya then?” he offered, though as they come to the road outside, 2D crouched to let her back up on his back. No sense in letting her hurt feet on the rocks before moving back down the road toward the shore.

The weight on his back put him at ease as they walked, the situation did seem familiar the more he thought about it. Someone who had relied on him just the way this little girl did and at the corners of his brain he could remember being all to happy to fill the role. Had he been good at this or not, he couldn’t recall but he was willing to take a chance.

He was relieved to find the pink instrument in pristine shape as she had been before he’d found her. He bent to pick it up gingerly and looped it over and arm, “Ready to get some new clothes now, yeah?”

2D smiles in reply turning to look at her, “Heh, I try! ‘Er names Petunia, found her outside. Bit like you.” he teased with a small smile, “I got a spare room I can let you stay in!” he offered, motioning down the hall.

He frowns, “The island seems to have that affect on people. Hopefully it’ll come back?” he says, nodding sympathetically. “I can’ guarantee I’ll be a lot of help but I can try.” he offers with a small smile.

He beams a little at her admissions, “Good, m’glad! Welcome to stay as long as you need.” he said, reaching out absently to muss her hair. Though the compliment catches him off guard, “Pretty? Firs’ time I ‘eard that, but thank you Chou.” he says.

She nods, smiling more, hugging the cat to her chest. “I guess we’re sisters then!” She looks down to the hall, curious. “Thank you! I hope it does come back. I hope something comes back. I don’t like not knowing who I am.” She frowns just a bit, but relaxes visibly as he touches her head.

“Mm… I’m just telling the truth!”She smiles once again, leaning into his touch. “What were you doing on the port anyway?”

2D watches Petunia all but melt in Noodle’s arms, purring so loud he half wonders if she won’t rattle the small girl she lays on and chuckles, though her reaction seems to mimic the cat’s as he pats a hand through her hair.

“Maybe we could help each other out then!” he says, offers a smile before pausing when she brings up the dock and fights down the urge to utter an obscenity.

aw shit. he thinks taking note of his bare feet and lack of his pink fender in her case.

He hops up at that, then paces back toward the couch. He probably shouldn’t leave her there should he?  That certainly didn’t seem to be the responsible option. “Was working on a song. Lef’ my guitar down by the water. You feeling good enough to venture down there wif’ me?” he asked.

She plain bursts into giggles..The look on his face was priceless. “Hehehe!” She covers her mouth, and then sets the cat on the ground. “Yeah! Let’s go! I like the guitar!” She says, and then pauses. Where did that come from? She smiles, though. That’s a little more of her that she knows! She gets up, brushing the cat fur off of her stained shirt. Then, she notices how dirty she is. “Maybe after we get it I can change into something cleaner…” She muses.

2D snorts at the giggles, well at least she’s having a good time.

He moves to slip on some new shoes from the closet and grabs his apartment keys from where they’d been haphazardly tossed in his rush to get her to a decent place to rest, he perks a bit at that. “You play guitar too?” he asks, offering his hand to the young girl to lead the way out. Praying his guitar will be in one piece when he gets there.

Though he frowns taking in the dirty shirt, “Yeah, think we may need ta’ swing by the clothes shop before we head home. Since you’re gonna be stayin’ here wif’ me an’ all.” he muses.

Though that brings him to a whole other realization, what all did little girls need? He hadn’t much interaction with kids outside of the ones that came into the shop sometimes.

“No problem, make yourself cozy.” 2D folds his legs under him and looks contemplative as he watches her, making a note to get her more water from the way she cleared off that glass. If the flush on her cheeks is any indication she’d been there a while, he frowns a little. Story sounded familiar enough, but if he could make a happy life on the island.

Well, why couldn’t she? At least, until they figured out where she came from?

Petunia sniffed at her fingers with a little chirp before promptly pushing her head straight into her palm. “Heh, Tunia likes ya.” he commented. “Sounds a bit like how I got here, can’t remember much outside of tha rowboat? Think I had a band?” he says, the last bit to himself but shrugs.

“You can stay here with me a minute? ‘Till we got you all sorted out, yeah?” He had a spare room he’d mostly been using for movie props but that could be changed. He certainly wasn’t about to let her wonder around on her own again, certainly not in her current state.
