Puck | 20 | They/Them | This is a little blog dedicated mostly to Twisted Wonderland and my OCâs. I might add some more of my special interests later on :)
Titania took a deep breath, then reopened the door for Ace. He at least had the presence of mind to look sheepish as he followed her and Grim into the lounge. He took a seat on the least-dusty couch while she prepared tea for everyone. When she returned from the kitchen, Ace was surrounded by Alphonse, Bertholdt, and Clarence and she chuckled at the sheer relief on his face when he saw her again.Â
âTheyâre our dormmates,â she explained.Â
âNo, theyâre not!â Grim whined and the ghosts immediately left Ace alone to bother Grim instead.Â
âAwwww, Grimmy,â Alphonse said.
âAre you still mad about this morning?â Bertholdt asked.Â
âWe said sorry,â Clarence said.Â
Ace took a long sip of tea and sighed. âThatâs the same collar Grim got stuck with at the opening ceremony, right?â she asked and he nodded. âWhat did you do?âÂ
Ace glared into his mug. âI ate a tart.â
Titania paused.Â
âI think I misheard youâ.â
âI had one bite!â Ace shouted. âOne teeny tiny bite of a tartâwhich there were three of, by the wayâcause I missed dinner since we were getting our asses kicked by a monster and the Housewarden saw me and accused me of stealing his tarts!â
He huffed and flopped his head dramatically into Titaniaâs lap. She tensed, but he didnât seem to notice as he continued to whine about the collar. âIt seals magic, you know? A mage without magic, he might as well have cut off my arms and legs!â
âWere they his tarts?â she eventually asked.Â
Ace shrugged.Â
âI think you both suck,â Grim said from his seat on the floor.Â
âFurballs with rocks for brains donât get an opinion.â
âIf there were three tarts,â Titania started, âdonât you think they could have been for an event or something?â
â...Oh.â
âYeah!â Grim said. âLike a birthday party!â He grinned and cackled to himself. âIâm so smart, a master of deductionâŚâ
Ace pouted and curled in on himself, an awkward move since he was still splayed across Titaniaâs lap. The collar dug into her thigh but she tried not to let her discomfort show on her face. âIf itâs for a party, then his anger makes sense, even if heâs being a little strict with the punishment.â
âUgh, youâre not supposed to make good points, youâre supposed to agree with me about him being a total power freak,â Ace said.
Titania ran her fingers through his hair. âYou should apologize to him tomorrow,â she mumbled. He pouted but sighed and finally relented.
âDonât underestimate food grudges, Titania,â Grim interjected. Suddenly, his ears and tail shot up as if heâd just realized the answer to a great mystery. âHey! I never got my tuna cans from the Headmage!â
âŚOr not.
âYouâll come with me tomorrow to apologize, right?â Ace asked, batting his eyelashes as if to endear Titania. She grabbed his nose in response and he squawked. âHey, hey! Iâm still nursing an injury there!â
âIâll go with you,â she said as she released his nose. Ace humphed and sat up.Â
âSo, where should I sleep tonight?â
âYour dorm?â
âRejected!â
âEvery room but ours is a mess,â Grim said. âSo if you want to sleep here, you better get a mop and bucket.â
âHow about you sleep down here, and Titania and I will share the bed?â Ace asked. Grim threatened to roast him alive and Ace clung to Titaniaâs shoulders. âYour monster pet is bullying me!â he whined. âYouâll let me sleep in the bed with you, right? I wonât take up too much space, promise!â
Titania shoved him off of her with a hand to his face.Â
âThe couch is perfectly fine to sleep on, Trappola,â she said.Â
He clicked his tongue. âStingy. Fine, I guess Iâll sleep all by myself on this couch. Such a lonely existence for me.â
âGoodnight, Ace.â
Titania awoke to the sound of voices arguing in her lounge. She groaned and grabbed a misshapen pillow before throwing it over her head. One of the ghosts stuck his head into her room through the wall. âThereâs another one.â
She managed to drag herself to the lounge once more, only to find Deuce standing in her foyer along with Ace. The two were arguing about Aceâs stupidity until Deuce noticed Titania. He gave her a smile. âGood morning, Prefect!â
âGet out of my dorm.â
Grimâs spirits were high as he strolled down the main street of campus, his magestone glittering in the morning light. Titania trailed behind him with Ace and Deuce on either side of her. Grimâs continuous bragging of his talent, skill, and overall greatness became background noise to the three first yearâs conversation.Â
âYou made the skirt yourself?â Deuce asked.Â
âMy mother and I used to make a lot of our own clothes, so Iâve always liked to sew,â she explained and he nodded.Â
âMy momâs like that too,â he said. âIf any of our clothes get torn or roughed up, sheâll mend them herself instead of stressing about buying something new. It really goes a long way.â
âI do have to go back to the school store, today,â she added, remembering the deal she cut with Sam the day before. âSo, please, donât get into trouble again.â
Ace huffed and rolled his eyes. âIt was Grimâs fault. Mostly.â
âYou should probably apologize before classes start, or youâll have trouble,â Deuce told Ace.Â
He rolled his eyes. âYeah, yeah, I know. Still sucks, though.â
âLetâs go too, hench-human!â Grim said. âI want to check out the other dorms, and watch Ace grovel.â
âThis ainât a show, furball!â
Titania followed Ace and Deuce towards the Hall of Mirrors. It was a large, dome-shaped room with seven archways cut into the wall. Inside each archway was a mirror, though the intricately designed frames differed between each one. She studied them curiously, as Deuce explained how they worked.
âEach dorm is located inside its own pocket dimension. The mirrors are portals, kind of like the Dark Mirror but not as grand. The Dark Mirror can teleport you to anywhere in Twisted Wonderland after allâ.â
âAlright, nerd, we get it,â Ace cut it. Deuce shoved him.Â
âShut up! At least Iâm trying to be helpful.â
Titania idly wondered what she should cook for dinner tonight.Â
Together, the four of them stepped into the mirror and, after a bit of disorienting bright light, found themselves in front of an impressive building. It reminded Titania of the castles from her homeland, but this one in particular was very⌠red. Red paint, red flags, and red rose bushes in the shape of hearts lined the walkway up to the entrance.Â
âThis place is incredible!â Grim exclaimed. Stars glittered in his eyes as he took in the sights of Heartslabyul dorm. âItâs way different from our dorm.â
âOur dorm is still a work in progress,â Titania said. She wondered if Samâs shop had building materials; sheâll probably end up making repairs to the building with no help from the Headmage.Â
Suddenly, a boy with orange hair dashed past the group and towards a rose maze. He muttered to himself about painting roses. Curious, Titania followed him. He wasnât hard to locate, standing just inside the entrance to the rose maze and waving his magic pen around. Around him, the beautiful white roses changed to a vibrant red shade. âAlmost missed that one, that would have been bad. If thereâs even one white rose left, itâll be off with my head!â
The orange-haired boy looked up and finally acknowledged his onlookers. âDo you guys need something?â he asked.Â
âWhat are you doing?â Ace asked.Â
The boy gestured to the rose maze. âIâm painting the roses red, duh.â
âHow come?â Deuce asked and the boy suddenly burst into laughter.
âWhat a classic first-year question,â he said with a smile. Then, he squinted at them before his face lit up with recognition. âWait! Arenât you three the first years who busted up that magic chandelier in the cafeteria yesterday?â
âOur reputation precedes us,â Titania sighed. Ace shook his head.Â
âWeâre going to be hearing about that chandelier until the day we graduate,â he grumbled.Â
âWhat great luck!â the boy said before pulling something from his pocket. A cell phone, Titania recognized, after having been briefed on this worldâs basic technology by Crowley and later Ace yesterday. He waved the phone around as he grinned. âLetâs take a selfie, okay?â
He crowded them together until Titania was awkwardly squished between Ace and Deuce, with Grim perched on her shoulder. The boy crouched in the corner of the frame, holding his phone up and away from them. Once he took the picture, he began to type away at the screen. âCan I post this on Magicam? Tell me your names, and Iâll tag you, too.â
âDeuce Spade.â
âAce.â
âGrim and my hench-human.â
âWhat is a magic-cam?â
âAnnnnnnd, posted!â the boy said. âIâm Cater Diamond, by the way. Iâm a third year at Heartslabyul, nice to metcha~â
Titania nodded at him. âNice to meet you.âÂ
âOh, I know you!â Caterâs eyes lit up. âYouâre the one everyoneâs talking about, the new Prefect for Ramshackle. Iâm surprised anyone would be willing to live there, itâs so dark and creepy and not suited for Magicam at all. You have my sympathy.â
âThanks?â
âMan, this guy doesnât know when to shut his mouth, huh?â Grim said.Â
âWhat am I doing? I donât have time to stand around and talk!â Cater said, once more returning his attention to the rose bushes. âThe party is tomorrow and if I donât get these roses painted in time, Iâll lose my head. Since you guys are here, do you mind helping?â He flashed the group a big smile and Titania felt a shiver go down her spine.
âWhy are you even painting the roses in the first place?â
Cater shrugged. âRed roses are more photogenic, I think?â
âYou mean, you donât even know why either?â
âIâve also got to color the flamingos for the croquet game, so Iâm extra busy,â Cater sighed. Grim squinted at him.Â
âYour chores are so weirdâŚâ he grumbled.Â
âSo, does that mean the tart Ace stole was for the Housewardenâs birthday party?â Deuce asked. âNo wonder he was so mad.â
âNo, not the Housewarden,â Cater said and Aceâs annoyance grew.Â
âHuh!? Then whose birthday is it?â
Cater laughed and shook his head. âItâs no oneâs birthday. Tomorrow, weâre having our traditional Unbirthday Party. The Housewarden picks a day that isnât anyoneâs birthday and we have a big tea party!â
Ace wrinkled his nose. âWhy?â
âStop worrying about the why,â Cater said. âWe have to paint these roses red. Deuce and Grim can use magic to change the colors but Ace and Prefect will have to do it the old fashioned way.â He gestured to a collection of paint cans full of red paint and paintbrushes strewn half-hazardly around the lawn. Titania sighed.Â
âWe can really use magic to change the color of roses?â Deuce asked in shock.Â
Grim mumbled, âIâve never done anything like that before.â Despite Deuce and Grimâs clear uncertainty, Cater still smiled. He gave Deuceâs shoulder a strong pat and scratched behind Grimâs ear.Â
âDonât worry, donât worry,â he said. âWeâll figure it out. But, we have to hurry or it will definitely be off with our heads!â
âAGH!â the voice from earlier screamed and she jumped, falling back down as some kind of gray cat creature came face to face with her. âWhy are you awake?â he asked. He sounded offended and she shot back,
âWhy are you talking?â She finally managed to get to her feet and brushed dirt off from clothes she certainly did not remember wearing or even owning. âCatâs donât talk!â
The cat (though he might not actually be a cat considering his ears were made of fire) glared at her, and stood up onto his hind legs. âJust who are you calling a cat?â Titania pressed her hands over her ears.Â
âStop talking! Stop talking!â she pleaded. âLalalalala this isnât happening right now. This is just some crazy dream or somethingâ.â
âDonât ignore the Great Grim when he talks to you!â the cat shouted. He lunged at her feet and she danced around him, nearly stumbling into a giant floating mirror that she did not have time to process right now. âAnd give me that uniform, or else Iâll roast you alive!â
(Track 1: Internet Killed the Rockstar)
âYou guys seriously donât know the Queen of Hearts?â a voice cut in. A boy in the schoolâs uniform smiled at them and nodded at the so-called Queen of Hearts. Titania noticed he also wore a heart, a red one drawn onto his cheek, which was certainly a choice. She kept quiet, though, since he was a stranger and scooped Grim into her arms just in case.Â
âIs she important or something?â Grim asked.Â
âShe was a powerful queen who ruled over a land of madness,â the student explained. âShe valued rules above all else, and if you disobeyed her, then it was off with your head!â He laughed and, in her arms, Grim shivered.Â
âSounds terrifying,â he said.
(Track 5: So What)
âSo, the four of you worked together to defeat the monster in order to bring back a magestone?âÂ
âWell, I wouldnât say we worked togetherâŚâ Ace said.
âIt was my idea,â Titania said.Â
âOur goals just aligned for the moment,â Deuce said.Â
Suddenly, Crowley covered his face with his hands and sobbed loudly.Â
âHey, what the fuck?â
âWhy is a grown man bursting into tears?â Grim asked. Titania placed her hand over his eyes.Â
âDonât look, boss. This is too terrifying.âÂ
âIn all my years as Headmage,â Crowley cried, âI never thought Iâd see the day my students would face an enemy together, hand-in-hand!â
âI did NOT hold Aceâs hand!â Deuce shouted and Titania fought the urge to make a face.Â
âThat is definitely not what he said,â she sighed.
(Track 7: Candy)
I made pictures to go alongside my main story rewrite like a light novel lol
The reason Titania ranks lower than Sebek is cause sheâs no longer a harbinger of doom and I do think Sebek would bite someone for disrespecting Malleus
Crowleyâs new money scheme is to sell photocards of the publicâs favorite students. Grim didnât get one cause he didnât make his bed and Titania grounded himâŚâŚ.
I drew Titania, the background, and her autograph/grim in procreate and the text and flowers were added using free elements from canva
