He wasn’t an expert on what it was like to transition. He hadn’t had the most NORMAL experience with the whole thing. But he knew enough to be able to get her through the worst of it. The cravings, the emotions, the overall overwhelming nature of it. But even times like now, it took him by surprise. He was maybe a second or so behind her, grabbing her jacket and wrapping it around her shoulders once they were out of the bar. 

His arm was tight around her, steering her away from the biggest crowd of people and down the street until he found an alley to duck into. Gently, he pressed her against the wall, resting his hands on her cheeks as he looked at her intently. “Breathe through it. Come on, you got this. Just breathe.”

She’s pretty sure it hasn’t even been a minute since she stormed from the bar. And already Tyler had her pressed against a wall, hands on her face, attempting to pull her focus, and trying to back her off the edge. There’s a part of her that wants to push him away from her, go back into that bar and tear the asshole apart. 

Then there’s the larger part of herself that is terrified of the part of her that wants to do that. But she focuses on him, and she does her best to breathe. Which is hard when her lungs burned, as much as her throat did, and she couldn’t seem to lock the bloodlust away. Fangs are bared, and every person that walks past their alley drives her just a little bit more crazy. 

But she’s wedged against the wall, her body trapped between it and Tyler, and she could break away if she could only stop agonizing over exactly how wrong it was that she’d lost control. Liv Parker didn’t loose control.

It takes a few more minutes before she’s able to breathe again, taking in, instead the familiar scent of Tyler, of the only person she had left. “I’m okay--- I think I’m okay.”

Okay so maybe she shouldn’t have put off feeding as long as she did. Not exactly the smartest decision under the sun. She was irritable, and this person seemed to be grating just the right nerve. She was going to take a bite right out of this asshole’s throat---- “Tyler, I need to get out of here.” Her voice was strained, she was better than this. Better than attacking some douchebag just because his opinion was shit. “Now.”

She was up and headed towards the door in a matter of milliseconds. Unintentional but probably for the best.
