If Democrats win control of the Senate, they can finally push forward a better healthcare plan, among other important pieces of legislation that will guide the United States to a more progressive and equitable future. The GOP is so partisan that they would rather see us lose our healthcare altogether during a global pandemic than allow a Democratic healthcare plan to pass. They proved that in this past year.

Democrats just need 2 more seats to hold the majority with VP Kamala Harris as the tiebreaker. There are 2 seats up for grabs in the run-off election.

You do the math.

Listen, the presidential race would not have been this close if more young voters had voted. If every young person in America had voted, Biden would have likely swept the election. We HAVE that power, Millennials and Gen Z together. But we didn’t use it. Now Georgia is giving some of us a second chance.

Please do not get complacent, even though it looks as though Biden is going to win. The GOP is still that same party full of sycophantic and opportunistic narcissists who old white republicans put in power, even without Trump to bow and kowtow to. They will pull the same shit they always have. So…

my initial thought at seeing this was just: fuck. i don’t know ANYTHING about myself. but i’ll try!

1. i’m a taurus. i don’t strongly believe in astrology but i believe in manifestation so if you believe your star sign means things about you then it probably does. i’m not a foodie (i’ve been struggling with ed relapse during quarantine) but i like to think i fit most other taurus stereotypes pretty well: i’m fiercely stubborn and fiercely loyal. but that could just be because i’m a slytherin ;)

2. i’ve been keeping a journal for i think 2 weeks as of yesterday. i’m usually pretty bad at being consistent with things but i’m finding that i enjoy it a lot and it’s not time or energy intensive so it’s easy to keep up with. on days when i don’t have the energy to write a full page i’ll go back the next day and fill in the space with a poem or a quote i like. it’s very grounding and it makes me really happy.

3. as of right now, i’m standing in the shower with purple shampoo in my hair because i bleached the bottom layer of it and because my hair is so dark it’s quite yellow. i’m considering dying it dark green because i have the dye and it’s my favourite colour (really my most prominent personality trait is my love of the colour dark green) but i might just leave the blonde for a while first. i’ll probably put the green in when school starts up again because i can’t stand abiding by uniform rules, it goes against everything i stand for (in a silly way but also in kind of a serious way).
