"Wait. I-What?" She looked down at Parker in awe. Was this really happening. Her hand flew up to cover her mouth to muffle the strangled choking noise that came out of her, and she slid Piper down the side of her body to the ground as she nodded to Parker. "Yes. Yes, oh my god, yes!" At this point, tears were falling freely from her eyes and she couldn’t focus on anything but Parker’s smiling face.

Parker beamed at Zelda and rose to his feet. As he stood, he took the ring from it's box and slid it onto Zelda's left hand ring finger. "Good. It would have been a little embarrassing if you'd said no." he joked, running a hand through his hair. "We don't have to get married right away, we can wait as long as you want, I just kind of wanted to find a way to show you that I really am here forever." He glanced over at his mother and grandmother, smiling proudly, to see them smiling right back at him, his mother with tears filling her eyes.

"Yeah, that sounds like a pretty great idea. I could eat. Just let me get cha—" She stopped talking when Piper starting yelling and spun around to face her. "Excuse me, missy, that’s not an okay amount of noise to make in my presence." She picked Piper up and rested her on her hip, kissing her cheek. "Thanks for shutting up, kid." She turned around again to face Parker.

As soon as Zelda turned towards Piper, Parker set his shoes on the chair softly, and got down on one knee, producing a ring box from his pocket. He opened the box just as Zelda turned back to him. As soon as he saw her looking at him, Parker spoke. "Zelda Mae Lancaster, will you marry me?" He smiled up at her, waiting for a response.

Zelda huffed when she heard Parker calling for her and slammed her laptop shut. The stress of the game she was playing was unbelievable, so she figured it was probably for the better that Parker wanted her in the other room. Knowing that Parker’s mother and grandmother were most likely over for another visit, she quickly pulled on a pair of shorts before leaving the bedroom. Like she expected, there were four people in the room, and she smiled softly at Parker’s mother and grandmother before walking up to Parker. “What’s up?” She asked, looking up at him.

"I was just thinking we should all go out to dinner or something." He suggested, "Piper's getting hungry, and I kind of don't feel like cooking tonight, and I thought we should take mom and mawmaw somewhere nice while they're here." He sat down and started to busy himself putting on shoes, and looked over at Piper, who was watching him intently, and smiled, "I think Piper would like it too." he said, giving the little girl her cue to start screaming.

Parker turned to his mother and grandmother who were sitting on the couch, "Okay, are you guys ready?" he asked quietly. They both nodded confirmation, and he smiled. Parker turned to his daughter, who was sitting across the room playing with her dolls, "What about you Pipes? You ready?" he asked, his voice still hushed. He took her smile to be a yes, and looked towards the door to the bedroom, where he knew Zelda would be. "Hey, Zelda, can you come in here for a minute?" He shouted just loud enough for her to hear.
