Chiss Spy AU Dedra, anyone?
I feel like we missed seeing Dedra in armour, so here is... a version of that.
(I promise I'll write a fic with context & link it on this post when it's done).
[*throws this down*] university is absolutely brutal (it's week 1 😭) and I had to sketch them before I started clawing at the walls more than I already am
Winter regalia Ree? Yes.
(Absolutely sketching the full outfit later on ajsjsj)
The Stars made her pretty to distract from the fact that she didn't take an ecology course & is also planning to doom Winter to Annihilation by Eldritch Ender Dragon & Co via a Very Stupid Plan Involving A Fairy-sized Lightsaber and Chopping Tree Roots That Probably Shouldn't Be Chopped.
(I still hate Queen Elvina, but nobody else is going to draw her (probably) and so here I am to deliver).
A max number of 7 people are going to know all of the lore behind ✨️The Bitch Squad✨️ but basically, from left to right: Queen Altherion (my OC), Queen Isolde (@yumekirae 's OC), and Queen Elvina (Wings of Starlight canon).
The Disaster Queens of Pixie Hollow BCE (Before Clarion's Era).
Based on this:
I'll colour later, but here's the Milarion prequel fics that Altherion and Isolde are from.
Altherion: To Love The Sun - by Hydrophius
Isolde: Chasing Snowflakes In The Silence Sound - by Yumekirae
Elsa commission for the arendelle guardian
Not to be the insane lesbian in the room, but Bellatrix Black could probably do anything to me and I'd thank her for it....judge me all you want....

Elphaba: I’d like it better 100% off
Galinda: The store can’t just give clothes away for free-
Elphaba: That’s not what I meant
Galinda: - that’s a terrible way to run a business Elphie
Hermione: What are some good responses to getting stabbed?
Narcissa: Rude.
Bellatrix: That’s fair.
Narcissa: Not again.
Bellatrix: Are you gonna want this back, or I can keep it?

Athena blessed her with the ability to protect herself and men beheaded her for it.
That’s actually a really intetesting intpretation of it I hadn’t thought of. Most people seem to think Athena turned Medusa into a gorgon as punishment for defiling her temple, but thinking that she did so to protect her from being abused again is interesting and I like it!
Athena’s hands were tied. Yes, she was a powerful Goddess, but she was very much a woman in a “boys club”, and the true offending party (don’t think for a moment that Athena blamed Medusa for being raped in the temple, Athena knows better) held all the cards. There was nothing that Athena could do to punish the true criminal, and she was expected to punish Medusa by everyone else. What’s a Goddess to do when she cannot punish those who need to be punished and is expected to punish not only the truly innocent party, but her most beloved follower? Use that incredible brain power she had to protect Medusa at all costs, and of course the men would see it as punishment, to be have her beauty stripped from her and sent to live in the shadows. Medusa should have been KILLED for supposedly defiling the temple, whether she truly did or not, but she was given the gift of life, and the ability to protect herself and her daughters (who she bore thanks to Poseidon). This is why Medusa’s image was used to signify woman’s shelters and safe houses.
Medusa means “guardian; protectress”, and she was.
Hi, hello, sorry, this interpretation is wrong.
Athena didn’t give the gift of life to Medusa.
Athena punished the victim, helped Perseus kill her and hanged her head on her shield.
Depending on the version you hear.
The more kid-friendly version is the one where she’s a monster to all men and Perseus was sent to kill the monster, thereby making men out to be heroes and women out to be either monsters or damsels in distress.
The version I like, which is told by the Parcast Network podcast series “Mythology” (found on Spotify) is like the OP.
To summarize: Medusa was a beautiful, dutiful, virgin priestess of Athena that was raped by Poseidon in the temple, in front of Athena’s statue, but since none of the priestesses were around to witness it, they either a) thought she was lying, or b) they thought she should be proud that a great god such as Poseidon was into her. Only Athena believed Medusa, so she turned the poor human woman into a creature that no man could get near ever again and moved her to a remote island so she could be safe, where she met and eventually befriended the other two gorgon sisters.
When Perseus was sent to take the head of the mortal Gorgon, Medusa, Athena was told by Zeus to help him even though she had done all she could to protect the woman. Athena tried refusing but Zeus pulled the “I’m your father and you’ll do what I say” card and Athena had no choice. So she lent Perseus her shield, Aegis (which was originally Zeus’ shield) to use as a mirror but told him to give it back when he was done with it. He did, and Medusa’s head was fused to it as a reminder to humans of what strength and power Athena had, and as a reminder to Athena herself of things she did. Her little owl that she’s often seen with also used to be a human woman that was abused. Anyway, go listen to those stories. That’s the Athena I love and respect, and would worship in this house if I knew how.
everyone please consider….. the average japanese samurai was 5’5” and the average japanese woman back then was projected to be shorter than 5’….. we average rangi out to be 5’3”….. which means she doesn’t even come up to kyoshi’s shoulders 🥺
rangi’s outfit was inspired by @maviplier’s designs!
[id: rangi and kyoshi on a light green background. both of them are framed by white lines. kyoshi is on the left, wearing green earth kingdom clothes and smiling at rangi. her hands are folded. her hair is in its canon style, and her shoes are black slips. rangi is on the right, arms folded and looking in annoyance at kyoshi. she is wearing red fire nation clothes and gold boots. rangi’s hair is as in canon. both their clothes have hints of yellow. /end id]
So yeah, shoutout to all the lesbians out there!
Trans lesbians? Amazing. You're not just a 'straight man trying to invade our spaces,' I promise.
Nonbinary, genderqueer, genderfluid, or lesbians of any other gender? Fantastic. Still lesbians, I don't give a fuck what anyone else says. Gender non conformity is such a huge part of our history anyway.
He/him lesbians? Neat! Pronouns =/= gender and your pronouns don't contradict your identity as a lesbian.
Lesbians who use multiple pronouns? Cool! Pronouns are awesome, I can see why you chose more than one, and I hope people remember to switch them around for you.
Neopronoun lesbians? Awesome! Your pronouns are so fucking valid, I love them.
Ace/ace-spec lesbians? Great. Not feeling sexual attraction doesn't invalidate your identity as a lesbian because being a lesbian is not all about sex. I will fucking murder anyone who says otherwise, don't fucking try me.
Aro/aro-spec lesbians? Incredible. You're not creepy or predatory, and you're not perpetuating the stereotype that lesbians as a whole are creepy or predatory.
Bi/m-spec lesbians? Lovely. I get it, sexuality is a complicated thing, and you can use labels that might seem contradictory. You aren't harmful to our community. That term has been in use since at least the 1990s and is used in the literal bisexual manifesto, so anyone who says it isn't valid can fuck themselves.
Lesbians of color? Stunning. You're so beautiful and you belong here just as much as any other lesbian.
Jewish lesbians? Wonderful. Find yourself a nice Jewish girl (or don't if you don't want to, I can't force you to do anything). Anyway, you belong here and you have my full permission to punch antisemites in our community.
Muslim lesbians? Fabulous. You also belong here and punch the shit out of any islamophobes in our community.
Christian lesbians? Nice. Your religion doesn't contradict your sexuality, continue punching the shit out of those who say otherwise.
Lesbians who previously identified as another sexuality? Excellent. You weren't faking it then and you aren't faking it now. You're just on your way to discovering something awesome about yourself. If you later realize you were wrong and you're not a lesbian, we're glad to have you here for the time being!
Lesbians? Brilliant. I love lesbians. All of you are so terrific and you're not weird or creepy or a freak or anything mean you tell yourself, I promise. Don't be a bitch to other lesbians in the community and you're golden. I love you.
