New Tumblr

Writing and creative life.

Hey, gang. As part of the new-year hysteria of REINVENTING ONESELF, I've made myself a new Tumblr page. I think I'll still update this one sometimes, but I want to shift away from passively observing and sharing things. I want to have a webpage that I can present to people who want to read my writing and see my art things, and have this be separate from collections of cats, butts, and cat butts.

This was my vision board for 2013. I wanted to focus on music, travel, and writing. Some of the things on the board were already plans in place (traveling to Disneyland and Hawaii with my family), but some of them were qualities I wanted (the devil-may-care attitude of cats and pinup girls... maybe someday) or dreams.

Some of the things that were just wishes or ideas came to fruition. I did get published this year (three times!), Kevin and I are planning a Europe trip that will include France (for him) and Italy (for me), I got to see David Sedaris again, I "took flight" from my parents' place, and my family got a little kitten like the one at bottom left.

Looking at the board again, I'm also reminded of things I neglected this year. I wouldn't say that I took a lot of time for myself, and I definitely slacked on learning any more guitar. I haven't played bass in a long time. Things to consider for next year. Really all I want to do is enjoy my day to day life and write every day.

Moved in with my sweetheart

Published in a tangible book for the first time
