Inside a yellow Hollyhock
Pink Gladiola in my garden
Bee. Never could get a frontal shot so I gave up and figured this is as good as it's going to get.
Winter
I know there is plenty of warm weather left, but it seems every mid to late August, I start feeling the morning chill. I'm retired now and I don't have to get out in the cold and snow but I still hate to think that it's coming.
Emerging Red Gladiola
Got a stalk of white glads. Such beautiful flowers.
No meteors
Was up at 4:30 but couldn't see any of the meteors. Too much light pollution around me. A few years back I did get to see a comet in the sky. That was an amazing experience.
Moon backlighting a single cloud. Meteor shower is supposed to be visible tonight. Hopefully there won't be any clouds then.
Carolyn came home from the dollar store with these bulbs sometime back. I put them in the garden and waited to see what they looked like. It took quite a long time to finally bloom but I thought they were gorgeous.
I went outside the next day and was really surprised to see the blooms shriveled up. I was concerned that I had done something wrong but when I looked it up on the Internet, I found out that they do only bloom for one day. It takes a couple days, but a new bloom shows up to replace the old.
Yesterday I was trying to get a shot of the Lantana blooms, when a bee graciously inserted itself into the shot. I had to handhold the micro lens, so with my shaky hands I wasn’t sure whether I could get it focused. Not perfect but I did get it fairly close.
The Crocosmia and Gladiolus are finally starting to pop.
Gotta love this time of year! Could do with a little less #heat though. Happy #Fathersday everyone!
A quick shot of hail and then sunshine. Welcome to Colorado! #Colorado #hail #cowx
Bought some petunias to add to the garden today by first I had to add one to my photos. http://ift.tt/1XLk5IX
Beautiful #Colorado #sunrise this morning.
