My First Tattoo: As morbid as this might be for some it means even though I am at odds with myself I will find my passion before death. It has the symbol of Jupiter which means- a planet of plenty. It is tolerant and expansive, seeking insight through knowledge. ... In the chart, the position of Jupiter by sign reveals how we express our generosity and tolerance. Not only is this meaning relevant the symbol of Jupiter looks like the number 24. To me 24 is an important number not only because it is the age I never thought I would get to, but that in the alphabet it is the second and fourth letter. B and D. I chose the words to mean before death. Originally it was a misconception from the Julian and Gregorian calendars that A.D stood for after death but it actually means in the year of the lord. This year I want to strive towards self-awareness. I’ve had this tattoo for about 2 years now, and now more than ever is the time to seek the help I need and focus on myself for once in my life. Since this has been a constant battle for me to focus on myself, in my tattoo I have added the opposition symbols in astrology on both sides of my tattoo. Opposition in astrology is simply the glyph of the conjunction plus a circle on top of its line, implying two objects are in front (opposed) of each other. But, it also has a strong and powerful meaning overall for me:  It's a challenging and very hard aspect because the energies are at odds. My life has been a mess for as long as I remember and for some who know me or use to be around me to this day I still struggle. I am very grateful for the opportunities that have come into my life minus the continuous negativity. I am fortunate that the people I have close to me put up with me in all my crazy. I’m just going to do me for once and hope I can become aware of my happiness and surpass this raw moment. It’s interesting how it took my years to just share a glimpse of myself because of fear of what other’s would think of me, but it’s my first step, just like my first tattoo. I can’t compare myself to others, I am not them, and that’s a good thing. I can start anywhere.
