Philippians 2:3
“When I am afraid, I will put my trust in You. In God, whose word I praise, in God I have put my trust; I shall not be afraid. What can mere man do to me?”
— Psalm 56:3-4 (NASB)
We can’t always see where the road leads but God promises there’s something better up ahead. We just have to trust Him.
“Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
If we look for things to thank God for, we will find umpteen reasons to be grateful for and if we look for things to complain about, we will find enough and more reasons to complain.
When the Israelites came out of Egypt and went to the Promised Land, they kept complaining at every turn. First they got bored of eating manna every day, and wanted to eat something more flavourful and again they complained when they had no water. God miraculously supplied water for them, but we have no record that they were ever grateful for anything God provided.
And what was the end of the matter? A whole generation died in the wilderness, all because they refused to trust God and enter the Promised Land when God told them to. They didn’t trust God to deal with the giants there.
Pray: Father, Help me to trust you more. Forgive me for grumbling and complaining. Give me a grateful heart, help me to trust You always, even when things get difficult. Thank you for being my Rock and my Redeemer. In Jesus' name, Amen
Ever loving God!
Dear Lord, may your word become flesh in my life this Christmas in Jesus's name. Amen.
Pain, if sanctified, creates tenderness toward others.
Charles Spurgeon
Beware of posing as a profound person. God became a baby.
