Facts about English Weather

People who never been or went to UK during the autumn/ winter time always tend to imagine England as a very rainy place . Lets say you can see lot of people on a pictures from London walking with the umbrellas or in a majority of English movies when its always raining. Well,this weather forecast is partly true. I have been living in England for over 6 years now and I have seen best and worst sides of this country. That is true that it does rain a lot more in comparison to majority of other countries but not always.

The very interesting fact is that you can see nicely this pattern when it rains more during the winter season and it doesn't rain that much during the summer time. Another thing about England - which I hate the most - is the temperature. You don't tend to get that freezing winters. The average temperature is 0 degrees. Sometimes i goes below 0 but usually it stays like that. Not like in country I was born (Poland) when there where times when the winter temperatures we reaching -30 degrees and more. So this is a benefit. However the main drawback is that you don't also tend to get that hot summers. Tit for tat. This year I was really surprised to see so many sunny days however the average summer temperature is -18 degrees or more if lucky.

So what is the typical English Weather?

I would say its not very cold and not very hot (mild) and the sky is always grey.

Thats how I felt when I first came to live in UK. Despite the fact that people I went to school with were in exactly same color, similar culture they still treated me like I was somebody else, just because I was coming from the different country.
