I'm grateful to people here that recommended me to try out Chinese historical (period) dramas because watching them truly altered my maiko brain. If those male leads in dramas were ready to die or could get beaten/tortured/exiled just to be with their love interests (or went against the emperor for their freedom), then why can't Fire Lord Zuko (while being the absolute ruler of his nation btw) marry a noble lady AND his childhood friend??

Maybe in some maiko fics this whole pitiful star-crossed lovers drama is made up and pushed just for conflict purposes, I don't know. Or maybe it's the comics' influence where, instead of showing that Mai is from a noble family that goes through a hard time under the new government, they put her to work in a flower shop...

Anyways, some maiko fics traumatized me. Because, realistically, Mai is a perfect match for Zuko even politically and status-like. Yet people go and write about Zuko's council not allowing him to marry THE ONLY GIRL he has ever loved :/

I think if we all start posting nipples at once they won't be able to stop all of us. and by they I don't just mean tumblr staff I'm referring to the entire world.
