My favorite joke in Metalocalypse is how as the show goes on it becomes increasingly obvious they’re naming characters with the sole purpose of torturing Mark Hamill.
It’s been almost two years since I posted this but here’s a list of the official spelling of every character he introduces here:
Dr. Gibbitz
Dr. Amon Skagerakk Fredrickshaven
Dr. Donald Gorthian
Ronald Von Momnaldberg
Dr. Natasha Nesciantskidovich
Vicenzo de Alimamala Corningston III
Professor Jerry Gustav Mangledink
Horace Marmingblat Wimplestein, Jr.
Dr. Chazz Fazzledopenhoffer
Vater Oorlag
Dr. Milminaman-lanilim-swinwamly
Dr. Gibbitz again (but for some reason it’s spelled “Gibbetz” in the season 2 subtitles)
Melmord Fjordslorn
Dr. Ralphus Galkinsmelter
Dr. Amomolith Chesterfield
Wilmore Unduntingiminen
Dr. Ninmiltrid Fmiltindryden
Dr. Imptnin Pmiltson
Dr. Tormindbind Mickmildididindnin
Dr. Krumpworth Chponglasia IV, Jr.
Dr. Borgermu Barret Swingdworth
Dr. Richard Reinhold Rnawighiwowpj
Captain Slufgyflaysid
Dr. Bartholomew Grahsrihajul
Dr. Alsajahb Fifborgiltk
Dr. Fsmilejera Irlelwoll
Dr. Commander Vernmim Chuntspinkton
Like I just love how you can pinpoint “Ninmiltrid Fmiltindryden” as the exact moment the joke went from making Mark Hamill say funny but still vaguely name-shaped words to forcing that poor man to pronounce straight up keysmashes out loud.
Where would you put a city on this map?
probably here. not really sure what scale this is operating on, but it looks real big. but generally just somewhere with multiple rivers for access to trade and near forest (green i assume?) for access to building materials.
The first city has urbanized
Where will the next city be placed
Here looks fun
A second city has been built
I wish for a citadel with robust maritime trading and fishing on this peninsula on the big lake
City 6 has been built, lets start connecting them by rail
what jumped out at me was a city at the red circle with a smaller one nearby at the yellow one. possible trade routes highlighted (you might have to zoom in to see the yellow circle, it's where the red and yellow routes meet)
Cities 7 and 8 have been constructed along the north, now the railroads should begin construction
Tentative plans for main trunk line and secondary lines.
4 rail companies have been established based off of these plans
We need sustainable farmlands to supply the cities with food!
Farming has been added to the map
A new city, born out of trade opportunities between the already established cities and train routes.
This post is so cool
Have you considered a city where the red circle is? Much like Paris? Possible rail routes drawn, altho the purple rail could also come from the junction to the south near City 1. Farmland could come on either side of this new city's river.
Cities 9 and 10 have been established, with the support of a new railroad and also a rail link has opened in the north
Ferry services have been established to connect some cities more directly than by rail and as a result of the industry brought by rail, numerous cities have begun to expand as well
I would like to propose this addition:
A deep vein of magnetite, in addition to high silver content in nearby rock, being discovered in the south of the map provides space for industry to develop (black blob), leading to a new rail connection and a small industry town built nearby, which also has its own rail connection (grey blob).
Who needs to play management sims when we've got fuckin. Post.
Do you like the color of the cooperatively generated fictional map?
Has anyone else noticed that this map is entirely constructed of existing rivers and coastlines patched together, many of them already where major cities are? they're all at different scales and rotations, but these are definitely real places. In fact, they're all population centers in the united states.
The first city is in North Portland. The second city is san francisco. cities three four and five are around various parts of boston harbor, and city six is up the columbia river from portland. Cities 7 and 8 are in and around Seattle. the new city "born of trade opportunities" is baltimore. The city in the red circle is up the sacramento river from san francisco bay, and the most recent city is in lake oswego, south of portland.
This is true!! Chicago is also there in the Northeast and DC is next to Baltimore
It started out as a series of 6 separate public transit maps that I then stitched together for this post, turning off the rail layer
very cool! it was a fun exercise mapping all of these out.

I really like how the scientology speedrunning trend is developing, in this clip we see that the participants are
Not deterred by the closed door
Working as a group
Protecting their identities
Inflicting material costs to the institution via property destruction
Getting away at the end
These ideas were not all here from the beginning. They are genuinely gaining experience that can be applied elsewhere
