anyways i don't think we talk enough about the fact that percy was like. genuinely Supposed to Die. like the titan war Great Prophecy was pretty damn clear. "hero's soul cursed blade shall reap. see the world in endless sleep. a single choice shall end his days." etc etc etc. i swear to god death was implied every other word and that boy just??? skirted past it??? he saw a blue string (blue has always been his lucky color, it's an inside joke) get cut by the Fates when he was twelve (they were looking right at him, gee i wonder why). apollo (god of literal prophecy) took one look at him when he was fourteen and the blood drained out of his face. Luke said he'd die at sixteen. Poseidon said he'd probably die at sixteen. Chiron said he'd likely die at sixteen because the prophecy was literally so crazy specific like come on impending death is referenced at least four separate times.

so percy was DEFINITELY intended to die and he DEFINITELY knew that and he was also definitely resigned to it. and to be honest he might have actually died because he had already made his peace with it, he wasn't really looking for a solution at that point, he lowk was going to take the easy way out and just do his best to bring kronos with him

and. i say was going to because. then annabeth chase went "aw hell no", stepped in at the last five seconds, exploited the 1% chance-of-success loophole in the prophecy, saved his life and Olympus and did it all without telling anyone what she was planning and goddamnit everyone bow down to the Queen of Loopholes. convinced her future boyfriend to pull a Leo Valdez in his Death Prophecy of the Year and he didn't even realize it

i just know that percy annabeth and grover are those Three Friends who are absolutely. Indecipherable when they're together. like they operate on an entirely different plane of reality. they have their own little inside jokes and shit, but even worse than that, all of their brains are just so fucking chaotic that only they can understand one another when they're excited. so you'll be standing next to them at a cabin counselor meeting and all three of them are talking so fast you're not even sure if they're speaking english (Grover might actually be yapping in ancient greek, it's impossible to tell) and they look like absolute lunatics, going off on different tangents of thought, it doesnt even sound like they're talking about the same thing, and then somehow by the end of the meeting they're able to present a brilliant let's-kick-kronos'-ass strategy with perfect cohesion. like honestly what the fuck

annabeth chase is hated on the most because of the fact that she is the most 'human' out of all the characters.

like out of all the books (that she's present for) annabeth chase is the one who cries the most. she also experiences the most human emotions like jealousy, envy, anger, loss and grief (both for luke, before and after he died). the haters don't like that. they don't like a strong female lead who has emotions that makes her "weak." they want a female lead who throws her emotions away and is submissive does whatever the male lead wants her to do with no ability to think for herself.

the one emotion my girl is ALWAYS being shamed for is jealousy/envy of someone else as if we all haven't at one point in our lives been jealousy of someone. put your selves in her shoes before you start talking abt her.

no one has ever stuck around for her. she genuinely tried so hard to keep everyone that's ever come into her life and none of them have stuck around.

and then she meets percy jackson, a guy who she is NOT supposed to get along with because her mom hates him and she would be expected to hate him because she wants to make her mom proud and acknowledge her. and yet they go on a quest and she realizes that he's not that bad and they become best friends.

fast forward a couple of quests and he's proven to her that he will never leave her side and he isn't like the rest and then one day he shows up with some random mortal girl and then they take over her quest and she lets them, because its the only way to save camp, but that doesn't mean she has to be happy about it.

and then she has one more year with him before she loses him to the great prophecy and she doesn't even see him anymore because he spends all of his time away from camp. and she doesn't want them mad at each other but they just can't seem to get along and suddenly, if feels to her as if he's like everyone else, he found someone better than her and he left.

'oh but why didn't she realize that he had feelings for her earlier?' (dumbest question i've ever heard btw)

my girl only saw him 4-5 weeks out of the year (52 weeks), and that's why she genuinely couldn't tell if he liked her or not. and even if he did, did he like her in a 'i want to date you' way or a summer fling kinda way.

so NO annabeth chase slander will be tolerated.

(and my projecting because i love her so much and she and i are the exact same)

annabeth hates driving. she doesn’t want to, she has no desire to, she’s too anxious to.

she focuses more on the statistics of driving and she is a good driver but she never got her license and percy drives her everywhere and is happy to do it. and understands that it makes her really anxious to be in a hunk of metal hurling at violent speeds where you can’t control anything around you (and part of learning to drive is learning what to do if your car stops working mid drive).

so yeah. my girl is happily a passenger princess, but in the sense of she might be paying more attention to the road than the driver, and will say “you didn’t fully stop at the stop sign”, “you forgot your turn signal”, etc. but you will never catch my girl behind a wheel.

Frank’s mom got him a build-a-bear in military uniform when he was little and she was deployed. It even had little combat boots. Frank takes its boots off every night since they’re too hard to cuddle with and puts them back on in the morning as a little bed time/ morning ritual. He sleeps with it every night. Hazel notices this and frank gets terribly embarrassed. But she just finds it absolutely precious. (Also she wants to go to this stuffy store of the modern era) Frank definitely is like “you’ve never gotten a build-a-bear!! Becuase 1940s!!! that’s so terrible actually omg” Cue to cutesy road-trip and a build a bear date. Hazel definitely would get a pawlette or the horse but it wasn’t available at my location last time I went. Frank definitely takes Hazel to do “childish” things since she didn’t get to have a childhood like he did. Build-a-bear? Lego store? Special treat Birthday breakfast? Drive to CVS so she can have a coloring book? Literally just loves her so much. Maybe Nico tags along with them. Nico would fw stuffies so hard bro. Honestly both the death kids partner’s just letting and encouraging them to get to have childhoods.
