Iâm sorry???!
Some of the preschoolers were having a tiff about something and arguing real loud and my director just walked up to them and shouted "HI-YAH" and karate chopped the space between them and they all just kind of stopped and were confused and what a great way to just. stop the spiraling thoughts in your head--to just mentally (or physically, you do you) shout HI-YAH and karate chop through your brain and cut it all off mid-sentence.
It is the giantest unfairness of life that I do not have an endless monetary fund simply for fabric and fabric accessories.Â
I'm turning twenty-five next month, and I have been genuinely surprised to notice how much my face and features have developed and changed even since turning twenty-one. And beyond how much I've changed, but how little I now give thought to each individual feature and it's imagined flaws now that my mind has also grown.
I'm fairly outspoken about my distaste for plastic surgery, but I'll concede that if it's something you truly are going to do no matter the risks and twisted societal expectations surrounding the practice, I can only say this: consider waiting until your body has more fully matured. If not to give yourself time to grow to be able to live with and not in conflict with your body, then to see what you actually look like as an adult before you decide what needs to change and with how much severity.
It is very nearly farmer's market season...parking up with a $5 and coming home with lots of fresh veggies to munch on season...we'll make it there ladies...
Breaking feminine expectations is not a singular, one-and-done action.
It's wearing shorts for the first time in the summer and fighting through the self-consciousness of your leg hair showing after a winter in pants.
It's getting ready for a fancy event and resisting the urge to ask to borrow some makeup.
It's sitting with your legs spread and daring yourself not to cross them when other women do.
So long as standards for how women should present continue to be rooted in sexism, going against the grain will always be a constant resolve.
Me saying this is not just because of a certain celebrity getting engaged but I donât think people should be allowed to legally marry until theyâre 21. In my state you canât rent a car, book a hotel, or have a drink but you can legally bind yourself to another person?
Idk it just doesnât sit right with me.
Was just SO convinced that thereâs no such thing as nocturnal birds, and was getting really excited about character designing a species of nocturnal birdsâ
Owls. Owls exist.
Absolutely unhinged behavior at the grocery store yesterday, a woman picked up some bananas and just. Kept. Walking. No looking around for the ideal shade of green so they donât get too ripe, no counting out the days of the week while counting them. She didnât even break her strideâjust grabbed a bunch at random and kept walking. Bizarre.
Every now and then I remember that not everyone likes being alone as much as I do and get weirded out.
I go to concerts, museums, restaurants, ext. by myself and donât usually feel anxious or lonesome. Often entire weekends pass and I realize I havenât spoken to anyone.
I am working on being more social and such because Iâm so independent that sometimes I think itâs unhealthy, but I really do enjoy my own company and am perfectly comfortable being alone.
Excellent day for wildlife on the ski hill this morningâhawks and bald eagle and crow sightings, deer browsing besides the slopes (can you see her?), and a gaggle of turkeys crossing the road as I drove home.
Add in the fact that the far side of the mountain was empty enough for me to do my favorite type of skiing (bombing it down the hill until I feel like Iâm flying and thereâs no sound but the screaming of the wind) and it was a great last ski of the season.
Lying on the floor (ate too much soup).
Bad news: you will never run out of things to do.
Good news: you will never run out of things to do.
Hey friend!! How have you been <3
Just great friend!
I graduate in 3 months, am working super hard to up my status career wise, on the precipice of creating some really neat art, and lately have begun to run out of things to do on the internet (leading to more free time to do actual Activities and Tasks) so that's good too!
Can't wait to see what's afoot in the next couple months!
Obsessed with this picture one of my students drew for me that hangs above my desk. The smile, the eyes, the single star.
Itâs the best, Iâm going to have it tattooed on me someday.
