This bug. This bug that, to most humans, is utterly useless, relatively gross, and completely foreign. Humans saved it because humans do not want to cause another extinction ever again if they can avoid it.

One of the best scenes in all 3 books is Laurent giggling helplessly against Damen’s chest while listening to the way they’re both described. Laurent being described as mousy and not that attractive and Damen being described as basically an animal of a man. And Laurent is just. Giggling. Makes you wonder when the last time he laughed freely like that was and how much it mattered that he did so pressed against Damen of all people.
