your blog when you find a character.
getting characters into world-endingly intense codependent queerplatonic relationships is literally what life is all about. it is literally what we were put here on this earth to do
having a comfort character that is an antagonist is so silly sometimes. yeah the fictional serial killer wouldn't treat me like this. i wouldn't be going through this if murder monster 9000 was with me right now
(girl who's been thinking about The Character nonstop for two months voice) you'll never guess what this song reminds me of
you can lead a lamb away from slaughter but you can't make it stop feeling like a sacrifice
having a canonically male blorbo who you headcanon to be a woman is torture nexus for many reasons but one of them being having to clear your name whenever tagging her in a post about women I MEAN IT WHEN I SAY SHES A WOMAN TO ME I MEAN IT. IM NOT LIKE THESE BITCHES TAGGING SPAMTON
would your girl blorbo end text messages with "boomer ellipses"?
yes, regularly
yes, but only rarely and/or as a bit
no
other nuance

this lamb keeps trying to sacrifice itself even though no one really needs or wants it to do that
stage 1 of liking media: yeah this thing is pretty good!
stage 2 of liking media: haha remember when blorbo bleepus did that thing that was so funny
stage 3 of liking media: huh this one song is kind of blorbo bleepus… if you think about this other song is also kind of blorbo bleepus
stage 4 of liking media: blorbo bleepus is really interesting… here’s a sensible analysis post
stage 5 of liking media: FUCK. THE CHARACTER. THE CHARACTER IM HAVING A CHARACTER ATTACK
stage 6 of liking media: well let’s see what ao3 has to offer!
stage 7 of liking media: everything goes on my character playlist. this song with no lyrics is about blorbo bleepus exploding a building and looking really cool. if this lyric was an entirely different sentence it would fit perfectly
stage 8 of liking media: who wants to hear about these characters new pronouns and mobility aids
(guy who tags every single post as the same exact character) you know who this post reminds me of?
he’s wet. he’s hysterical and he’s wet. he’s in pain, he’s wet, and he’s still hysterical. i didn’t say a name but i bet he popped into your head.
anytime i do a character ask game I am reminded that this is the kind of person I am and its awesome i lov e my this
Tender
more from just long enough to really hurt:
“I’m glad… I'm glad I met you, though.” The words make your closed eyes prickle. I’m glad I’m not alone. Another stop-start in River’s breathing. You turn your head to look at him. He’s not looking back anymore, half-closed eyes turned to the ceiling. One arm is exposed, wormed out from under the blankets, palm turned up. You reach out across the dark, across the worn and dusty carpet, and thread your fingers through his. His hold is tender, warm, and when he takes a tighter grip you can feel how soft his hand is. Not soft like unworked but soft like— Kind. And you fall asleep.
For the guessing game: hungry 😋
from on the nature of working dogs:
“I can’t keep dancing if you’re going to do that,” River sighs, combing a hand through Duffy’s hair. Duffy’s lips barely leave the skin of River’s stomach as he mumbles, “Maybe I don’t want you to keep dancing.” River smirks. “Oh, yeah? What do you want me to do instead, huh?” In a flash, Duffy’s hands slide from cradling River’s hips to gripping, firm, around his waist as he just about tosses River backwards onto the couch. River shrieks, landing with a laugh, lapping up the whiskey that’s spilt down his wrist as Duffy closes the space between them. "Just lay back and look pretty for me," Duffy growls. His eyes are dark, hungry, mouth half-open. Dog after a bone.

you are three for three @hr-twink so enjoyyy 👅
from like blood flowing down the vein, my beloved medical au:
“Is there a ghost problem in this hospital?” His voice makes River jump. “What?” “When you opened the ambulance,” Lockwood says, looking intently at River. “You looked like you’d seen a ghost.” “Oh. No, it’s— sorry. It’s fine.” He can’t hold Lockwood’s gaze, eyes sliding away and back to the convenient head wound he’s meant to be closing. “You just— you look like someone I know. Knew.” “So you’re the one with a ghost problem.” “It’s not— I don’t have a problem—”
from just long enough to really make it hurt, aka 2 stare in2 the sun:
“Are you trying to say Harkness is transgender?” Lamb points at her, triumphant, before taking another, frankly disgusting, bite of his kebab. “That’s the word I was looking for.” A bit of meat has got caught in his beard. Something drips from his chin. It’s all very unpleasant. “Honestly, I’m surprised you didn’t figure it out earlier. She’s got those cute little earrings, a–an’, yknow—” he makes a gesture to his own chest that Diana immediately wishes she could scrub from her mind. “—from the hormones.” “Yes, well, I’m not Whelan, so I don’t make a habit of staring down my employees’ shirts.” Lamb makes a snorting noise that could generously be described as a laugh and Diana raises her voice a little as she continues, “And, furthermore, plenty of gay men wear earrings, Lamb.”
and a little more down the vein
He starts at the base of her neck, moving as quick and light as he can as he presses against the muscles running up her throat, the back of her neck. Nothing out of the ordinary. He’s ginger as he reaches her jaw, almost ghosting over the joint. He’s seen the deformity on the left-hand side this whole time, the little lump in front of her ear. But Christ, feeling it… Patrice wasn’t kidding, he thinks. This is a fucking terrible reduction. The joint is barely set in the socket, leaving a knot of overworked muscle all over one side of her jaw. It’s a miracle she can eat. He can’t reduce it— can’t re-reduce it now. Not with the muscles like this. Not with how long it’s been. “Christ, Patrice, did you do this bloody reduction yourself?”
