does anyone else ever thjnk about this i think more people should be thinking about this. lapis’s life pre-mirror being so short is actually fucking me up so bad rn like she was created and sealed away before the beta kindergarten was even MADE (it says Jasper formed 5200 years ago when Lapis was poofed 5600) you were dragged here for a purpose you never got to fufill because you were made to be an object. you barely got to experience your life before being crushed and objectified and abandoned and it’s left you as this horrifically paranoid and messy and bitter and undersocialized person. it just completely fucked up any chance you had at normalcy even if it did end up bringing you to happiness eventually it completely and irreversibly changed you as a person from what you might’ve been like and those of the same gem species as you think of you as weird. does anyone else feel fucking sick to their stomach!!!! do you ever think about the draining hopes of someone recognizing what had happened and freeing her and them being completely snuffed out when everyone fled and left her behind? what im saying is lapis is cptsd and CSA code- *i am carried away by burly guards and shot*

ALSO see some pixel art i made today. i've started using retroachievements as an excuse to play more old stuff (especially since my computer wont run most modern games anymore), buuut you cant actually set your pfps as Moving gifs on there and i didnt realize that beforehand... oh well
the second image here was me playing around with this webtool that's a fully functional pixel art animation software that simulates the phosphors of a CRT screen (!!!) and it's REALLY really cool and i just wanted an excuse to show it to people. i think its a really good way of seeing the difference between older and newer pixel art, and the way that higher contrast and defined shapes was just so so important on older screens (look at the complete loss of detail on starb's face vs the clearer lines on his body!)
