“Eerie”
2014
Oil on canvas
4′ x 3′
“This was the first large painting I did last year. It was largely successful for the response it got and a number of the profs were really on board with my foray into oils. I was focussed on trying to combine some kind of realism and graphic style. It was hung briefly in the President’s corridor at the school.”
“Winter’s Advance Into Autumn”
2014
Oil on Canvas
4.5′ x 4.5′
“This painting was done over the course of two weeks involving of long sitting sessions. Adding multiple layers and slight textures over a mirror smooth canvas. I put a slight textile pattern to the triangles in the distance to suggest subtle uniformity in nature. I wanted to foreground certain elements in the simplest way possible by incorporating line work.”
